Pickpick

Chief Mankiller tells the story of her people and her own life. The Cherokee history reads like a textbook (though explains more than your history class). The autobiography felt impersonal, matter of fact events recorded but few personal feelings on events shared, the end read as a list of political accomplishments. While I felt it lacked emotion, it was both an interesting history lesson and story of a strong and accomplished woman.

I'm thrilled this library hold finally came through on Wilma Mankiller's (auto)biography! I've been looking forward to learning about the life of the former Cherokee Chief.
(Also, what's up with my living room throw pillow matching my books recently??)
