We had our monthly meeting tonight of my library‘s main branch‘s book club! This one was a theme—we had to read any book that somehow related to animals. Here‘s the list:

“Troublemaker,” by Linda Howard
“The Fourth Monkey,” by J. D. Howard
“The Lion in the Living Room,” by Abigail Tucker
“Lance: A Spirit Unbroken,” by Walter Stoffel
“The Mouse & the Motorcycle,” by Beverly Cleary
Mine was the tagged book (HIGHLY recommend!)

(I feel like the Stoplight loosejaw and I would get along very well. We are constantly making the same facial expression. We would also probably like the same restaurants.) This book is fun! It's got the right blend of breadth and depth (pun intended) for the generally-educated-reader audience it's going for. Lots of cool facts and memorable one-liners: "we will always draw monsters in the margins of maps."
