pickI struggle a lot with non-fiction books and biographies a lot so this was a really nice way for me to learn something I'm passionate about while not losing focus or interest! I loved the art style and the storytelling so much it really helped me retain a lot of information!
so-soIt was good. I think the graphic novel format does make it more interesting than I remember it from high school (what little I do remember). The illustrations were simple, black and white images, but they portrayed things well. There is a large notes section at the end that expands what was included in the story. I think the notes took as long or longer to read through than the graphic novel portion, but it does add quite a bit of extra info.

Really enjoying this method of reading history; this is the first graphic non-fiction I've read, and I can see myself picking up some more in the future on historical topics.
There are so many incredible Canadian books and authors! This graphic novel about Louis Riel is an excellent introduction to someone so incredibly important.
