This is the first book in a trilogy and I read it for the first time in 2014. Just did a re-read of the first one and it was fantastic! Can't wait to dive into the last 2. It's delightfully witchy and full of magic, a perfect October read.

Witchcraft, evil curses and young romance made Spellcaster a fun enough read. With elements of paranormal, fantasy and a unique system of magic, I enjoyed the world Claudia Gray created, but the story was predictable, the two main characters were blah and too many POVs made things a bit confusing at times. Overall it was ok, the ending piqued my interest and the secondary characters were likable. I may move on in the series to see what happens.

I started this a few days ago, and I must say, I really enjoyed this beginning to the series. It kept me on my toes and was a welcome end to my reading slump.

While I have read other books by this author, I picked this one for the performer. 😂 it's good so far. Anyone else ever done that?

LLColbeck Yes!! Steve West is a delight to listen to and I currently have a mad crush on Bahni Turpin. 7y
