This is easily one of the most unique books I have ever read….and unique in a good way! I think one way you could describe it would be that it is a bit of a mashup of narrative poetry, folklore, philosophical psychology, and “choose your own adventure book.” It left me reflecting on life, loss, change, and how we have come to be who we currently are. Would highly recommend!

Just over 200 pages in, and I am LOVING this book!! The #ToBshortlist is 🔥🔥 for me this year.

So far it isn‘t super magical realism-y @Cinfhen but I will reserve judgment until the end.

Another confession I have for you all is when I opened everything I was a bit drunk and can't remember who sent me what! I'll tag who I can remember (don't be made at me if I have missed anyone please let me know. I hope you all had a great Christmas.

12/28/86 - a day chosen at random and a book written about the events that happened on this ordinary day. My one addendum is it was selection of events that happened on this day, not a comprehensive view of the day. It was a mix of great writing, observation, and a little philosophy at the end. Turns out no day is ordinary. The stories will appeal most to fans of true crime. I couldn‘t put it down and it made me think a lot. #jolabokaflodswap
