What a witty MG book about a boy who spins quite a wild tale about his summer vacation! While chasing a stolen treasure map, he winds up traveling the world and beyond, meeting the kookiest characters. It even ends with the coolest twist! Why haven‘t I read more of the 90 books written by this clever Italian author and cartoonist? And to think of all those boring summer essays I turned in when I was a kid! 😁

PurpleyPumpkin Aww, this looks like a very cute book! And a nice change of pace when you need one. Wow, that‘s quite a backlist from which to choose. Sounds like an author I‘ll have to check out!👍🏽📚 3y
UwannaPublishme @PurpleyPumpkin These children‘s books are certainly keeping me entertained this summer. 😁 The one he wrote called “I Didn‘t Do My Homework Because...” is supposed to be hilarious! 3y

I find really beautiful early readers difficult to come across, so this trilogy was a real prize. Like the first two, it follows along the same story structure as Dr.Seuss's And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street. The illustration is vintage inspired, but with a modern feeling and the design is great.

This is just like any imaginative kid telling about his summer vacation. The illustrations help complete the story.
