Atomic Spy: The Dark Lives of Klaus Fuchs | Nancy Thorndike Greenspan
5 posts | 1 read
Atomic Spy shows the real Klaus Fuchs - German by birth, British by naturalisation, Communist by belief, convicted of treason in 1950 for handing over plutonium bomb designs to the Soviets. His extraordinary life is a cautionary tale about morality and a classic anti-hero story. With thrilling detail from never-before-seen archives it places readers in the Germany of an ascendant Nazi party; the British university classroom of Max Born; a British internment camp in Canada; the secret laboratories of Los Alamos; and Eastern Germany at the height of the Cold War.

#WondrousWednesday @Eggs
🍎.Its when I take my annual vacation!
🍏Right now, extremely frazzled, stuck in a terrible traffic jam,and frightfully late to work!
🍏The tagged book, inspired by watching Oppenheimer. I can't recommend it enough.

Eggs I‘ve been on a bit of an Oppenheimer tangent as well… 7mo

Pickpick

4/5 🌟 Even though I picked this up on a whim, I actually enjoyed it. Since IDK anything about #germanhistory I found this educational, esp in regards to how anti-nazi Germans were treated by their own gvt and allied forces. I also learned about some of the #atomicbomb beginnings. There is a section that is full of MI6 and the FBI pointing fingers at each other I didn't like but overall a good read! #ww2 #biography

Lately I've been feeling very bleh in Feb and now. Haven't had time to really enjoy my days and haven't had time to read (not that I'd even know what to read). Considered deleting my blog, disappeared off many of my SM accounts. But I have a commitment this month and have to return. In the meantime, I got tired of not reading and started this ARC I got from my job, interesting so far #germanhistory #ww2 #biography
