Pickpick

A tight-knit miner‘s family struggles against poverty and racism in Depression-era Alabama. In her first novel, Gin Phillips alternates between four points of view, and she does it skillfully. The family in the book is wonderful to meet, and the book relates their tale in a quiet, unobtrusive manner. Highly recommended!
