Every time I read a book by Douglas Kennedy, I wind up scratching my head. The dialogue is always, always pretentious and unrealistic. Who talks like that? Nobody I know. But the story is sometimes decent. This one is about an American woman who meets and marries an Englishman and finds herself suffering from post-partum depression about giving birth. A custody battle ensues. It wasn‘t great, but it wasn‘t horrible.
