The obsequious ode to Earth, personified as Mother (Sun is Father) was heavy with deference. The referential tones felt OTT and mostly unappealing.
That said, interesting parallels between planet's forbearance & courage and humanity's, as attributes of offspring's (humankind) inheritance.
