If you loved American Horror Story 1984, you'll die for this paperback original thriller mashup of Agatha Christie's The A.B.C. Murders and Riverdale in which a game turns deadly with a killer who picks his victims one by one, letter by letter. Every year the senior class at Lincoln High plays assassin. Lia Prince has been planning her strategy for years and she's psyched that not only does she finally get to play, she's on a team with Devon Diaz. But this year, the game isn't any fun--it's real. Abby Ascher, Ben Barnard, and Cassidy Clarke have all turned up . . . dead. Can Lia stop the ABC killer before he reaches D?

Book 57📚 4.5⭐️

Really enjoyed this one! I‘m a little sad it wasn‘t longer - but it had a great pace!

Every year, the high school kids of Lincoln play a game…Assassins. Lia has been gathering information all year to win. But this year, the game gets taken a bit more literal. Is someone killing players in alphabetical order? And why?🤫

This book is an okay read for me. It‘s exciting because of how they play the Assassins. But, most parts are predictable. There‘s a love interest to make it compelling but again, it‘s kinda predictable. And the ending is regrettable because it just ends like that. It sounds cliff-hanging, but it is not. The plot is good, if the author could make it more exciting and darker, maybe I‘ll give it more stars.

It‘s fine, it passes the time but it‘s very clear who the killer is from the moment they‘re introduced

Pan?? This book was incredibly slow considering it was only 225 pages, there is a lot of unanswered questions, and the trope of ABC killer, comes up maybe for one page. The book had so much potential, but unfortunately didn't meet expectations. The killer was more than obvious, absolutely not shocking, at all, the "shocking" parts were very dull. 1/5 stars for me, unfortunately.

“If you loved American Horror Story 1984, you'll die for this paperback original thriller mashup of Agatha Christie's The A.B.C. Murders and Riverdale...”
So yeah I feel like it had a lot of promise-all the seniors play a game called Assassins and need to kill each other (with water guns) and leave one standing. However, there is a real killer playing their own game. It didn‘t feel authentic.
Thanks to Netgalley and Underlined for the arc.

BookNAround Our swim team in college played assassin. Luckily there was no real killer though. 😁 5y
JoScho @BookNAround that‘s awesome and of course super glad there was no real killer in your game. I had never heard of this game before. 5y
