Some books I borrowed for #koreanmarch

jlhammar The Gendry-Kim graphic novels are so good (though absolutely heartbreaking). Haven't read the short story collection yet, but sounds great. 2y

After a while, the shiny rooftop railings seemed to wash in like the waves, wetting her feet, only to be washed out again."

Pickpick

A book of dark, disturbing, and sometimes funny, short stories translated from Korean. These were a little frustrating because I definitely felt the indie movie WHAT‘s GONNA HAPPEN NEXT?!!-credits vibe from them. The writing was great. I had some serious pictures and smells in my head. I cared about the well drawn characters. I really want to know what a full novel looks like from this author. Pick!

Cathythoughts Sounds good Reggie. And I‘m getting into short stories these days ... stacked 4y

So many great, dark stories of women struggling with men and children and family (and some stories of men struggling too). A great range of characters and settings. Bleak and real and excellent.

Adding this into the reading mix: short stories translated from Korean. The first two were great.
