My family goes to the Chautauqua Institution every summer, and I heard the author speak about his book when he was awarded The Chautauqua Prize. It's an amazing story that is 100% true, even though it reads like a somewhat far-fetched spy novel. It also helped me understand Iran a bit better and what the country was like pre-revolution. Highly recommended!
