This was so good, y‘all! It‘s crammed full of awkward sweetness and great characters. I‘d legit love to hang out with Declan and his friends, and I don‘t say that about many fictional characters. I super related to Sidney. And I love-love-LOVED watching these people figure out what they wanted in life and love and relationships of all kinds. I can‘t wait for the next book, which follows Declan‘s friend Oscar.

When I made my grasshopper pie, weirdo grocery pricing meant I had to buy a LOT more cream than I needed, right when I‘m trying not to eat so much crap. Ulp.

After reviewing my options, I decided to make a Kahlua ice cream cake. It can hang out in my freezer until I need it. The custard happened early this morning while I finished the tagged book (WHICH WAS SO AWESOME). The rest of it‘ll happen tonight. #audiobaking

A spot of #audiocooking netted me a bowl of makhani tofu with okra. Yum.

(Okay, so it‘s more yum with peas, but I ran out and I‘m still working through the frozen okra I panic-bought last April, when it was the only available veg. Turns out, even a small bag of okra lasts ages because you hardly need any.)

The tagged book is my replacement audio, and I already love it sooooooo much more than my last one. It‘s all sweet and awkward and queer. 😍

Cuteness. A you tube show called Your Spinster Uncle, tipping of invisible hats, and a friend group who roasts you because they love you. If, like me, you have incredible secondhand embarassment concerns, I will tell you that some emotional risks are taken while the show is live and I thought I would die, but actually (surprise) it all works out in the end.

This was a sweet contemporary queer romance with a fun setup: Declan (he/him) is a commitmentphobe who signs on for a dating series that Sidney (they/them) is going to run on YouTube but ends up having more chemistry with Sidney than the dates. There's a lot of focus on them both working out their individual issues, which is good to see on the page but sometimes it was at the expense of us seeing more of their connection. Out September 29.
