Hawk | James Patterson and Gabrielle Charbonnet
8 posts | 6 read | 9 to read
A story for a new generation of Maximum Ride fans! 17-year-old Hawk is growing up hard and fast in post-apocalyptic New York City . . . until a perilous destiny forces her to take flight.
Where is Maximum Ride?
Ten years ago a girl with wings fought to save the world. But then she disappeared.
Now she's just a fading legend, remembered only in stories.
Hawk doesn't know her real name. She doesn't know who her family was, or where they went. The only thing she remembers is that she was told to wait on a specific street corner, at a specific time, until her parents came back for her.
She stays under the radar to survive...until a destiny that's perilously close to Maximum Ride's forces her to take flight. Someone is coming for her.
But it's not a rescue mission.
It's an execution. span

Day 2: Red & White
Hawk by James Patterson & Gabrielle Charbonnet
I just bought this one the other day because it's the sequel to Maximum Ride. I have a lot of books that I haven't gotten to yet. 🤷🏻 I'll get there eventually. ❤🌼

I loved getting to revisit the Max Ride universe. I really adored Hawk and getting to see the gang again.

Look what I just got! I‘m excited but at the same time my expectations are LOW ....the quality of this series has just decreased with each book 📚

AuthorJensenReed Agreed. But so far I really like her 4y

Loved the bird children from the Maximum Ride series. So I am hoping this will be good for our next road trip. This should be available today.

Okay, I don't normally jump up and get excited for a new Patterson. I mean I am the one who usually says he needs assassinated for the money he cost libraries (A new book every 45 days come on !!!!).

But we are getting a Maximum Ride Spin off series. I am kind of excited. makes me want to reread the entire seires (and finish the last two books). But he has a co writer, so I am not really expecting much.

SaturnDoo I kind of like this one. I agree. His co-authored books are not very good IMO. 5y
LibrarianRyan @SaturnDoo I agree. When he writes on his own they are usually a nice diversionary story. But when all he does is write the outline and let someone else craft the story. Ughhh. What makes it worse is when different authors co author on the same series. It made the Witch and Wizard series horrible. Ughhh. The only YA or MG series of his i have enjoyed is Maximum Ride. (Except book 4). 5y
SaturnDoo @LibrarianRyan I think some of his books have a ghost writer because you can definitely tell he didn't write it. Yeah, I'm not a fan of all that co authoring stuff either. I've kind avoided his stuff for several years now. 5y

LibrarianRyan @SaturnDoo Yeah. And his co-author stuff is not really a co-author. He outlines the story and hands it to the author. It's annoying. I haven't read anything of his in years either. 5y
Gissy Is this serie good? 5y
LibrarianRyan @Gissy the original Maximum Ride series is yes! 5y
