Thank you @Meshell1313 I love my #RecipeSwap box. I really wanted this book😍and the recipe sounds delicious 😋 I will post a picture when I try to do it☺️It sounds easy to do it but my skills in that area are limited🤣It so sweet that this recipe is made by your mother in every event you have. It is like a family tradition recipe and it was shared to me🥰❤️ I‘m glad you liked the box I sent you🤗❤️Loved the stationary you used

🧠 If I am overwhelmed, I need a space, a moment of silence, solitude to calm myself to control my breath rhythm and thoughts. A very important step. No talk. But also I like to exercise, walk and look the nurture, the beach, the trees. I like to listen music to calm my soul and of course, I loved to read.
🧠I practiced the steps mentioned above 🙌

Izumi, a Japanese American young adult discovered that her father is a prince in Japan. She want to discover her heritage roots his father family and will travel to Japan. Izumi question who she is, her cultural identity where she feels rejection in America for being a Japanese and in Japan for being a foreigner. The story is okay but cute with expected characters YA behaviors and expressions. 3⭐️I will like to read the sequel.

I saw the audiobook was free and decided to read the book. I really enjoyed this one. Benjamin Chaparro decides to write a book to manage his retirement idleness. He will write about a crime case that occurred more than 20 years ago which he investigated. It has two time lines and I liked that slow character driven writing style. It has that existentialist tone about life. There is a good movie adaptation but with different end. 4⭐️

Gissy The novel has an open ending in case you don‘t like that type of books. The title in Spanish is La Pregunta de sus Ojos.

This novel was for me like a cozy mystery in some way. Everything started with the #MayMothers group. All these women were going to have their babies during that month. They support each other but there are secrets. The author said that the idea came from a group she used to attend. One of the babies will disappear and a murder will occur. The group will make their own investigation. I didn‘t see that twist coming. 3.5⭐️

I liked the premise of this book. I think Frida would faced legal consequences in our real world and would receive parenting counseling. But this school was extreme, some scenes were absurd but I expect that in dystopian novels. However, I think it was unnecessarily repetitive in some parts. I still think this would be good for a movie or tv serie adaptation. The end...? Well..you need to read it. 3.75⭐️ I‘m a bad mother but learning to be good”

I liked the premise of this book. It has action, mystery and suspense. I think it describes very well a person who has drinking problems where the person take poor decisions to resolve problems that usually put his/her life at risk, no self control. But the ending of this novel was so abrupt, too easy and unbelievable😳It was like a great fall how it ended🤷🏽‍♀️3⭐️

I expand the orilius magical readathon for this month and probably for June. This month I will like to read more books by Asian or from Pacific Islands authors. Also, in many countries we celebrate Mother‘s Day so it is an opportunity to read about mother/family/couple/siblings relations.

Legal thriller. So good for me, couldn‘t put it down. Ellice Littlejohn a successful black female attorney working for a big firm one day went to an early meeting but found her boss dead. Instead of calling the police, she ran away. Why? At that moment we will start to know all her little secrets, “mistakes didn‘t make you a bad person. They made you human” (Said Vera, a character I loved). This is a debut novel but I will follow this author. 4⭐️

Alfoster I liked this one too!❤️👏 2w
Gissy In this novel we will see racism, prejudice against black persons but Ellice sees herself as “a fighter”. “Black girls fight all the time...I was a fighting Black woman...” loved it!

2nd book in this series. Anouk has a little antique shop and even though the story is in Paris, the story and characters are similar of what we see in cozy mysteries where it usually happens in small towns. Not murder here but Anouk will be involved in some jewelry robberies. Situation and characters are silly and story can be described as meh but I read it after a thriller, needed something silly and funny. But it should be described so-so 3⭐️

3rd book read by this author. Not my favorite but still like how author develops her stories in a slowly way, giving you the opportunity to know more the characters. I like character driven plots. Some parts were some kind predictable. I liked Kieran and how he managed his psychological situations. 3rd book in this trilogy. For me, this last book was disappointed. There were parts that were not necessary or poorly integrated to the whole story. The end was not necessarily the one I was expecting. Many parts that we saw in the two previous books were not resolved in this one. But I still love Baz and I enjoyed Penny and Shepard interaction. 2.5/3⭐️I will keep my trilogy because there were romantic parts I loved. 😍☺️

2nd book by this author. I can say that I like how she develops the stories and the unlikely characters. For me, this story has many similarities with Rock Paper Scissors. There were parts I guessed but still I enjoyed this psychological thriller. Amber guessed she is in a hospital, she can hear everything but cannot move, doesn‘t remember what happened and the man talking to her, is her husband, who she thinks is responsible for what happened.

Book read for April #CBBC The story is about books. As expected in cozy mysteries there was a murder in a small tow. This time, the murder is connected to a book that seems to have magical properties? or not?🤔Maybe it was a little slow and main character will help to find out what happened. She behaved immature for her age but in general the story was it was ok for me. I‘m enjoying this book club🤗3⭐️

I think Eilis immigration in general was more manageable in comparison to other people, she had a job and persons that supported her. She even had some money when she left her country. But she questioned some of her decisions which would changed her life. There are some sad parts. Liked the story and author‘s writing style. 3.5/3.8⭐️

#WondrousWednesday
🌺I like them but I don‘t usually play them. In Halloween I play it during Litsy readathons games.
🌼...read outside surrounded by colorful nature.
🌷I will say Hamnet but I enjoyed almost all the books read this month with the exception of one (The Flower Arrangement). Another one was ok (so-so) but I liked some parts (Matilda).

Thank you @EadieB for tagging me 🥰

@Eggs ❤️

From last week #WondrousWednesday
📚A small picture of my bookshelf, I need to reorganize my books, is a secret shhh 🤫 😉That figure was from @Chrissyreadit
📚I think the most important book I have read this year (my favorite at this time) is The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox, and I haven‘t post it yet but also Hamnet.
📚I haven‘t DNF a book yet but I found one book so boring. I haven‘t post my comment yet.
Thank you for the tag @Eggs 🥰

RaeLovesToRead I love the castle! 2mo

From last Tuesday #Two4Tuesday
🌼I don‘t have a favorite one but I love yellow flowers during spring with a touch of other flowers colors. Yellow is a happy color for me. But I‘m in a hot weather so flowers don‘t last long inside the house☹️
🌼🌼I don‘t have one but I‘m planning to read The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart. I‘m open to recommendations🤗

Thank you for the tag @TheSpineView
😍🌼🌼🌼

I know this is not for everyone but it worked for me. I read it with low expectations and it surprised me. I read it like a movie screenplay and not like a deep literally story. It is more like a violent revenge story, pretty predictable but good with funny and sad parts. If you liked those old movies like Taken, the first one of John Wick etc, you may like this one. I wish I could know more about Derek and Isiah. 3.8/4⭐️⬇️

Gissy I read this book for #LiterallyDeadBookClub @BooksandLala YouTuber most of the time I don‘t concur with her taste but still like her readathon ideas and some of her recommendations. She didn‘t like it due to the violence and it was not a thriller. She thinks it is more for older generation, well maybe that why I liked it😜She gave it 2⭐️Sometimes she gave 5 ⭐️To books that are boring for me. Well, there is a book for everyone that‘s good!👌⬇️ 2mo
Gissy I will continue with this book club. Next one is the new Foley novel. But I liked this novel as movie adaptation.

Last book read for #MarvellousNarch #Readathon @Andrew65

Andrew65 Great, thanks for playing along. 👏👏👏🙌🥳 🍾 🥂😍 2mo
Suet624 I was surprised by how much I liked this book. It‘s not the kind I would normally read but I loved the characters and appreciated their recognition of how much they loved their sons. 2mo
Gissy @Suet624 Agree! There were so many important lines, sincere I think because sometimes, change your attitudes, believes don‘t come automatically. It is a process, a healing one to admit that you were wrong but want the opportunity to change that. I loved it! 2mo
Suet624 I love what you said. 💕💕 it IS a process. 2mo

Mixed feelings. As most of the time happens to me in short stories collection books, I only liked some stories. But I enjoyed 6 out of 9 stories where some were better. I could say the topic of grief and solitude was pretty common specifically in those stories I loved. The book has not the best review ratings but I still like this author writing style. I will like to try another book. Well, I have 2 more books by this author☺️3.6⭐️That cover😍

Andrew65 Well done, I still have one of his books to read. 👏👏👏 2mo

I read 3 books during #MarvellousMarch #Readathon this is the first one. No exactly the best mystery but I still enjoyed it. I liked the way characters were part of Houston‘s novel including him. I really liked that dynamic. Sergeant DeMarco, not necessarily an honest one officer. A family of 4 members were found brutally murdered and the husband is the prime suspect. The ending was not the best either but I want to read the second book. 3.8⭐️

Gissy This book has mixed reviews but it worked for me.

Book related if I say that I need to read more about half Ironman training. I have a couple of books, need to read some memoirs or inspirational biographies on how people accomplished their goals in this type of events, specially for not young people😜Medal earned by the finishers. My cousin sent me this photo😍
Thank you Litsy friends! For all your support! Great supportive community😘❤️
Today is for reading and watching book related videos🤗

I apologize because I opened my #SpringEquinoxSwap box today but yesterday I came home late, exhausted and starved. Today, everything hurts and I think I overexposed to the sun and I didn‘t participate in the ironman, I was only a volunteer🤣🤪But today I opened it. I wanted to enjoy this process and I love it😱😍 @TheBookHippie Love the books including the under the dust jacket (that pink color 💖 so pretty that edition of An Old Fashioned Girl⬇️

Gissy The Garden Planning & Journal is fantastic in how the content is organized but I also love the cover. I‘m a sucker with vintage covers😍So lovely the bookmark message. I‘m a bookmark collector🤗The Ostara book, yes!! That will help, expand my knowledge in this topic. Thank you so much! I‘m very grateful for everything. Once again my apologies for open the box late but I wanted to really enjoy the process, it was worth to wait🥰 (edited) 2mo

Gissy @tpixie Yes!😍 2mo
mabell Great job volunteering! Especially since it sounds like it wasn‘t an easy one! 2mo
Gissy @mabell It wasn‘t easy. It was so hot at noon. Some athletes were really suffering. I even applied sunblock to some of them☺️The first place winner is a Brazilian person living in Boston. He said that it was hard for him because he used to do his training indoor, I guess like in a gym or something. He said he was slow just to have enough energy to complete the event. His overall time? 4:14 whaaat? yeah, he was slow🤔😳😱 (edited) 2mo
mabell Slow???!! 🤣🤣 I would think it would be totally different training in a gym - then swimming in the ocean! 2mo

Not book related but I wanted to share that today I couldn‘t read much and my #SpringEquinoxSwap box is still unopened because I was since 3:45 am in the half Ironman event giving support to my fiends. I ran like 4 miles to continue with that support to one of them and worked in one of the water station as a volunteer.

TheBookHippie Wow!!! That‘s impressive! Enjoy when you open. I hope you love it. 2mo

Gissy @tpixie Yes! Today I have been in bed, resting and watching videos about books. I tried to read but I can‘t concentrate🤷🏽‍♀️ 2mo
Gissy @DaveGreen7777 Well, we are a team. They were so supportive with me during my December 2021 sprint triathlon. In this type of sport you need that support. I‘m so proud of them! It was a hard race even for the elite group as I read in the news today but they did it💪 2mo
Gissy @Suet624 It was fantastic! I wish I could do it sometime. 2mo
Gissy @BookwormAHN Thank you! There were many participants from different states. Some of them were struggling with the sun but they did it💪 2mo
Suet624 I can‘t imagine trying to do that! 2mo
tpixie @Gissy sounds like a great recovery day! 2mo
Gissy @Suet624 I really don‘t know if I can but I just signed for another sprint next June. It is not the same but I can practice the swim part 2mo

Elizabeth lives in US but returns to Ireland after her mother‘s death to take care over her inheritance. But doing this task, she found some letters that will reveal family secrets about her mother and father. The story has various twists.
I enjoyed the story in general but some events were unreal to me. Poor Edward. The end was ok. 3.5
