This October #BookSpinBingo board is flexible to every Readathon out there👻🎃I‘m a mood reader, I can choose whatever I will like to read next 😜

🧡🖤🍂🍁🧙🏼‍♀️🍁🍂🖤🧡

@TheAromaOfBooks

WJCintron So cool!! So no assigned spots or books?! You can create your board however you want?! 😱 2d
Gissy @WJCintron Yes! A learned from other littens. I saw they were creating their boards by adding: audiobooks, book of the month book, library book, etc. It woks for me better because I can choose between genres, book length, language etc. 🧙🏼‍♀️🧡🖤🍂🍁 2d
TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!!! Looks great!! @WJCintron - I have a lot of people involved in this challenge who are more mood readers, so they prefer categories or shelves or whatever. I'm pretty flexible as long as people are getting books off their TBRs!!! 1d
Gissy @TheAromaofBooks Yes!!📚📚📚🙌 1d

The last 129 pages were during yesterday during #20in4 #Readathon Last book for September 2022. I don‘t know how to describe this book. I liked chunk, parts of it. The story involve many characters and events but sometimes I was confused who what saying what. But there were parts so interesting about the era and this woman surroundings. I like this edition. 3⭐️

I wanted to like this book more but it didn‘t work for me. The romance was cute but it was an adult romance but with characters behaving almost like YA. It was long and repetitive for me with an rush expected ending. 🤷🏽‍♀️3⭐️

6th and last book read during #SuperSeptember Readathon. I only read 147 pages within this time frame. Mixed feeling here. There were parts I really liked, like the integration of classic Greek mythology to describe characters and actions. There is something in the tone of this author writing style that I really like. Also, the mystery was good, interesting. But who did it and why, well, that was a little bit disappointed. 3.5/3.75⭐️⬇️

Gissy The left copy was a gift from a friend when she visited this summer The Bertrand Bookstore in Portugal😍It opened in 1732. Dice 2010 the bookstore has been in the Guiness World Record. Maybe that is why I liked the book a little more, it has a special meaning for me😉It has a stamp form the store😱🙌I didn‘t want to destroy the copy with my annotations so I used the BOM copy for that😜

5th book read during #SuperSeptember @Andrew65 I struggle a little bit with this one in the first chapters, but it was my fault because I‘m reading it out of order. So I needed to look in Google who was who, but after that, it was a quick and fun reading. I was like watching a movie. Few good characters died😢I want to know what is going to happen next. But why they didn‘t follow the force instinct?🤔3.8⭐️

Gissy #StarWarsBuddyRead @BookwormAHN I need to read the first two books. I will order them I maybe during winter I can read them🤗

4th book read during #SuperSeptember Readathon @Andrew65 An unpopular opinion. This dark academia book is hated by most reader but I really enjoyed it. This is a boarding school for elite girls. Maybe is unreal, unbelievable and even absurd the dynamic in this school but I love the integration of Classical Greek mythology to create introspection and make changes in these girls. I read it as almost a dystopian world. 4⭐️It has low rating in GR 3⭐️

3rd book read during #SuperSeptember Readathon @Andrew65
I liked this one but not loved it. I liked the mystery, how it was developed and some parts of the end. I was not connected in that relationship between Hannah and Will. Sometimes I couldn‘t stand Hannah and her irresponsible decisions during her pregnancy. Maybe who did it was for me an old cliché used in thrillers. But I like this author writing style. I enjoyed the audiobook. 3.7/3.8⭐️

2nd book completed during #SuperSeptember Readathon @Andrew65 This is the 3rd book in this trilogy. First book I hated that main character but the author was amazing in giving us a chance to know her better. Book 2 was fantastic and the conclusion was sad but didn‘t disappoint me. But it was so sad😢I really liked this world and it has many similarities with Bone Witch is some characters magic system and some actions, too similar😳4⭐️

This is book 3 in this trilogy. I liked the necromancy world and the characters but the whole trilogy is so sad even the end☹️The tone in the 3 books is so gloomy, somber, dark, sad. I enjoyed reading the books with the audiobooks and those covers are beautiful😍3.8 ⭐️ I will say for the whole trilogy.

Gissy @Ruthiella Yes! Thank you for asking🥰The worst part is in the south and west side of the island. There are place still without any electricity and we are facing a lack of diesel for generators. I can‘t imagine how bad it will be for those families in Florida😔It was like Hurricane María in 2017. 💔 5d
Gissy @Chrissyreadit It is a dangerous hurricane like hurricane Maria. So sad😔💔 5d
Gissy @tpixie We are in recovery phase after Hurricane Fiona but it was the south area which suffered the most devastation and some parts in the west side. There are still places without electricity. But hurricane Ian will be like hurricane Maria which impacted us in 2017. So sad for Florida it would almost a category 5 hurricane😔💔 5d

Catsandbooks So glad you like everything!!! I loved the glass jar too, so much so I almost wanted to keep it lol! It's for your iced coffee! There should be a straw in there. I hope this brings a little brightness to your day with everything going on from the hurricane. 💜 1w

Gissy @Catsandbooks I found the straw and so happy that you didn‘t keep the jar😅😂Today the electricity arrived to my area🙌I couldn‘t believe it I have light to read better and water, now we have problems to find gasoline. I‘m trying to limit to drive to save gas until this situation is resolved. The south area of the island are still struggling with the devastation caused by this hurricane that now is in route to Canada as category 3😔 1w
mabell So good to see you posting, and I‘m so glad you weathered the storm ok! I‘m sorry you were days without electricity, but yay it‘s on now! How did your apartment do? Everything make it ok? 1w
Gissy @mabell Right now, at this time I‘m writing this message, electricity was cut. Let me think that they are still repairing the lines🙄and I want to think that it will come back again soon🤞The apartment was pretty safe. I was awake during the storm checking everything. We didn‘t suffer major damages in this area, with the exception of no power and water. We also have the problem that there is not sufficient gas for now🤷🏽‍♀️ 1w
Catsandbooks I hope everything is restored quickly! 🤞🏼 1w
Chrissyreadit Glad to see you on litsy and posting! Hope everything gets better every day. 1w
mabell Oh no! The electricity went right back out?? Is it back on now? I‘m glad your apartment was safe! How is the gas situation? 1w
Avanders same questions as @mabell !! ♥️♥️ 1w
Gissy @mabell @Avanders @Chrissyreadit Well, the situation is that we don‘t know when the electricity is going to be cut. Yesterday we didn‘t have electricity for almost 13 hours which means that water was also a problem. This situation affected many areas in the north part of the island. They said this can happen again until they repair the system in the island🤷🏽‍♀️But still I‘m in a better position than the south and west part of the island☹️ (edited) 1w
Gissy @mabell @Avanders @Chrissyreadit That‘s is why I can‘t read/post in Litsy as much I will like. When there is no power, I can‘t access internet or sometimes is extremely slow. My heart is with those who suffered the impact of this hurricane besides us, Dominican Republic, Bermudas, Canada and others. It hit them as category 3😔💔The recovery is hard in places like us, islands, because the help takes time, it is by🛩or🛳It was hard for them too😢 1w
mabell I‘m so sorry - being without power, and water!, is awful. And not knowing when you will have it or not. You are so selfless - even as you are going through this, you are concerned for others! ❤️ 1w
Gissy @mabell It was hard for them. But the sad part is that now another hurricane is going to Florida😳One of my friends family live there and her mother is 92 years old, so we are alert of what is going to happen and if they have to leave to another safe place. Today we had electricity today all day🙌 7d
mabell It would be so worrying to have family in the path, especially elderly family members. I hope they are able to get to a safe place. But Yay for electricity all day!! 6d

I‘m reading my first book for #SuperSeptember Readathon 2022 @Andrew65

I don‘t know how much I‘m going to read during the weekend. We are in the middle of a Tropical Storm with a hurricane warning. Her name is Fiona. We expect a lot of rain more that 10 inches in some parts of the island, well we are an archipelago. So, let‘s see what happens. We will start to feel the first effects today late in the night.

Andrew65 Best of luck for the readathon and the Storm! 2w
mabell I hope the tropical storm passes without damage - stay safe! ❤️ 2w
Gissy @Andrew65 Thank you! I‘m expecting to read with my reading lamp ☺️ 2w

Gissy @mabell thank you! They said is a tropical storm but it could hit the south area as a hurricane one. We are still waiting for any changes. But we have received a lot of rain already in the last weeks so that could complicate the situation. This will be my first storm/hurricane in this apartment so I expect not much sleep because I need to be alert in case something happens. But In general I‘m prepared. 🤗 2w
AmyG Hope you remain safe. 2w
Gissy @AmyG Thank you!🤗 2w
mabell @Gissy The last thing you need after a lot of rain is more rain! I can understand being nervous in your new apartment. Hopefully you don‘t lose power and everything stays dry and safe! And you are able to get some sleep! 2w

Gissy @bthegood @Catsandbooks I‘m here, prepared. I‘m reading and eating a lot😳😂I don‘t have electricity already but where I live they have a generator for the refrigerator and I use the other plug to charge the phone but I made breakfast before I lost the power, lucky me. It is coming so slow that now we expect it this afternoon. I hope it comes during the day and not at night. But thank you for your support🥰 2w

Gissy @Soubhiville @Chrissyreadit @Avanders @EadieB Thank you for the support!🥰I‘m safe as well as my family. No electricity or water. Where I live there is a generator and I can have those services for a couple of hours per day. Problems to access the internet or make phone calls but that problem is related with where I live. The situation is not the same in the south and mountain areas. There are families that lost everything😢 2w
Gissy They are expecting another rain system for the weekend. Until now is only rain. But that will be dangerous for everyone but particularly for those areas, the mountain and south areas. 2w

I didn‘t know what to expect of this book. I thought was more summery funny theme. But it was more intense. It has some funny parts. These persons spent few summer days at the Pendizack Manor Hotel which collapsed. Some of these guests died others survived. The book is about these guests personalities, lives during their visit. In those dialogues and self talking the author gives us a perspective of that era, with criticism in various aspects⬇️

Gissy I really liked it, specially those lines in Mr. Paley diary. It could be a slow reading pace but not for me. I just wanted to know what was going to happened to these characters. The book was recommended by YouTuber Miranda Mills 4⭐️

Wow! I didn‘t expect the twist at the end.
After 10 years of graduation this group of “friends” assisted to a Duquette University reunion. In this reunion they will remember Heather who was brutally murdered. But during this reunion also secrets, betrayals will be revealed. No one is the person who they project to be. They are terrible characters. But what really happened to Heather? 😳Short, direct and intense. 4⭐️

Two beautiful editions😍
A common idea of brother and sister separated after parents were murdered. Feelings of revenge are present and hidden magic is discovered which is forbidden in that city. It is a slow reading. The action comes almost at the end of the book. But the end motivates me to know what is the purpose of this person to reappear now, why? 3⭐️

Chrissyreadit @Gissy it was great!!! You should come!!! I live just under 2 hours from the convention center so it is easy to go. This year was very empty- no lines to see anyone- that made it possible to see and do more than typical. And of course having dinner with Littens is always fun! 4w

A story about Zuhour, her relationship with Bint Aamirs. Story goes from past to present to see how Zuhour will adapt her life in Britain. During the past narrative you will see their cultural roots. The story has many beautiful passages but I was sometimes confused which character was narrating. I found loose beautiful parts without connection. Maybe a re-read will help me to understand it better. 3⭐️

2nd book in YA fantasy. I really liked this book more that the first one. We will see new characters and how and why the Rose Society is created, who will be the members of this new society. I liked these new characters. You can‘t trust anyone and everyone has a purpose to act and behave they way they do. At the beginning was a little slow but then it was pure action. I can‘t wait to read the third one. What is going to happen? I don‘t know😱

A couple drama, how Avery and Ellen marriage will be affected after a third person arrived to their lives. It is about infidelity, betrayals but also about second chances to yourself, about friends support. I love that ending, a new perspective, a new start. What a funny witchy rom-com. I was expecting a cheesy romance but it was better because made lol. So funny, including those steamy scenes. Reggie doesn‘t believe in magic but she was hired to work as “an assistant” in a house where magic exists. A hate/love relationship. 3.5⭐️

I liked the story, in general, and how author developed the characters. However, I expected a thriller. Sometimes it doesn‘t work for me when there are other elements or genres in the story🤷🏽‍♀️If you liked Behind Her Eyes, you will like this one. 3.5/3.8⭐️

It describes what was happening in 1920‘s with interracial relations, society integration and genre position. After Clare ‘s father died, she moved with some relatives, and passed as a white woman hiding her childhood living in poverty in a dysfunctional home. She married for ambition with white man that “hates” black people not knowing that Clare had black heritage. Clare will reunite with an old childhood friend, Irene.⬇️

Gissy Then we‘ll see tension between these two “friends” based on how they perceive their circumstances passing as white women. According to the introduction, Clare represents the modern woman in those time. Terrible Clare. I recommend to read first the novel and then the introduction. The end is vague but you can infer what happened. I didn‘t expect it m, to solve the situation in that manner? So who was “worst”? The author‘s life was also difficult⬇️ (edited) 1mo
Gissy Cont. It was difficult to read, terrible how Clare‘s husband described his feelings against black persons. So much hate. In the introduction there are some legal cases mentioned about this period of time. 4⭐️

2nd book in the series. I expected more from this book but in general I liked it not loved it. DeMarco will take some leave with Jayme. He is still managing what happened in the first book (no spoiler) and is considering retirement. But during this leave, he is asked to resolved a cold case: 7 young girls were murdered one each year, only their bones were found and the apparently responsible wasn‘t incarcerated or maybe was someone else. ⬇️

Gissy In this book DeMarco is in a constant introspection about his past and what he wants for his near future. You have to be attentive to those first pages velvety related with some of the actions during the book. Interesting what happened between the psychologist and DeMarco. 3.5⭐️I‘m still want to know what is going to happen next.

Second book in this series. We are going to know more about some characters specifically about Ronan. There are some funny parts between Noah and Blue and Gansey and Blue and Maura and The Gray Man. That Calla can be so direct, no filter when she speaks😂and there are other situations regarding of what Gansey is looking for. However, an unpopular opinion, I found some repetitive parts with this character Kavinsky and the cars🙄3.5/3.8⭐️

Three women decided to share their talents in this bookshop in California. The novel is about the lives of these women: Mikki, divorced, Ashley wants to marry but it seems her boyfriend has other plans and Bree who doesn‘t believe in permanent relationships. There will be drama to resolve all these family, couple, trauma issues, with support. There are some funny parts. It was okey but I liked it in general. Mikki‘s mother made me laughed. 3⭐️⬇️

I‘m always late but this is the first book read during #AwesomeAugust Readathon @Andrew65
Mixed feelings with this novel. Alice married John without knowing him well and moved with him to Tangier, a convenient marriage for John. But Alice is not adapting well to this new life. Then a supposedly friend, uninvited, arrived to visit Alice. Something happened between Alice and Lucy when they were in college. Lucy seems obsessed with Alice⬇️

Gissy What happened during that time? Who is this Lucy? The novel goes from the past during Alice and Lucy college time to the present. You are not going to like any of these characters. Betrayal all the time. That aunt is terrible. The end is a twist that most people are not going to like at all. You can feel desperate with Alice poor judgement. But I liked how characters were developed and with the descriptions, you can feel you are in Tangier.3⭐️ 1mo

Mixed feelings. I liked the writing style and story. It started so well. But then in the middle of the story some parts were like disconnected, loose descriptions without adding depth to the story. Then, those final chapters were so good connecting the characters with the house. Are we expecting a sequel? So gothic. Olivia is in a birding school with no family. But then, one day she received a letter from an unknown uncle.⬇️

Gissy “You are wanted. You are needed. You belong to us. Come home dear niece”. Who is this uncle? What is Gallant? Every house has secrets, what are the secrets of this house? Olivia Olivia Olivia.

What I liked about this book was the relationship between Leena and Eileen, her grandmother. So cute. Not only both of them swap houses but also responsibilities in their communities. They will grow with these experiences, they will heal emotional scars. You will love Eileen who at age 79 she “still can open jars” as she says, is in charge of the neighborhood watch committee and who can be active in many ways. So optimistic! I loved her! 3.5/3.8⭐️

Read first days of August- Perfect to start with autumn mood which is around the corner.
Lily is the owner of a store where she sales mostly vintage clothing. This job is perfect for her since she is a witch who feels vibrations in old things and her abilities will help to resolve a death in the neighborhood and the disappearance of some children. I enjoyed it but the end was okay. But I already have the second book in this series. 3/3.5⭐️

Read first week of August-mixed feelings with this memoir. I liked the writing style but I don‘t know, sometimes was confused for a memoir: sometimes was written in second person, sometimes first person. Sometimes narrated in this beautiful style but then sometimes it was more informative about data and facts, which I found so interesting. I loved that metaphor to use the concept of a house to explain her life/relationships 3.5/3.8⭐️

Read first days of August-YA fantasy but so good. Not much to say because the story has many twits and that ending😱so good. Kiva has a complicated family and she is living in a world where you can go to prison for any kind of treason to the royal family. But why she was incarcerated during her childhood? Why nobody rescued her? How was her life in prison? Who are her family? Can she ever leave prison? Fast pace read. 3.8/4 ⭐️
