Absolutely adored the story and characters. Rook was endearingly awkward on so many occasions. Isobel is smart and capable and stayed true to herself all throughout. I loved the uniqueness of the goat twins and how the Fae are portrayed. Highly recommend all her books.

Loved the main cast. The witchy aspect is great and makes it feel supernatural but still modern. I really want more of Nora and her power in more books. Fin was my favorite

I really enjoyed this book. I love how the crows were here in place of dragons like you normally find. The characters were strong and fleshed out. It was a tad predicatble but honestly not enough that I didn't second guess my predictions as I read. I wish it weren't a new release so I could binge the trilogy it will be.

I read this to my boys (6 and 4) a chapter a night. Overall, it was a cute story. I didnt like how sexist one of the characters came across and a few parts at the end were fairly dark, so I skipped those/read my own version.
I loved the cats! They were hilarious and a very interesting aspect to the story. The MC wad written well. She seemed like an 11 year old.

We have the second story and I'll be reading it to them too.

So I'm grouping them all together because really, they should have been one book. The story is gripping, the characters diverse/ fleshed out, but they're way too short. Books 1 and 2 end on a dumb cliffhanger that doesnt work.

My second issue with these is how inconsisstant the writing is about the MC's big secret. Characters not in the know say it loudly enough multiple times there is no way others didnt hear. However. I do recommend them.

I got this in June's Owlcrate box, my first box from them. I absolutely adore this book and the author's writing. Right from the start I connect with the main character, Elisabeth. Then Nathaniel and Silas arrive and I love them both soooo much. The little bits of humor thrown in just sold it for me. I read this book in a day, I couldn't put it down!

SO much happened but it was all tied up well and the ending was solid. 10 out of 5 stars.

I've had several people tell me to read the series. I was told there is a natural break between books 3 and 4 so I opted to stop after 3.

I never started liking the MC, Clary.
I LOVED Luke though. I would read an entire series of just his story.
The books read really quick, even though they're fat. I finished each within a day or two. The world was very in depth and interesting and I loved all the different beings.

LibrarianRyan I stopped after 3 as well. Admittedly that was when the series was supposed to be a trilogy. 7mo
AuthorJensenReed Apparently she mashed two trilogies together. I wanted to like them but so many tines there were weird jumps or lazy writing. Was a bummer cause i like big series 7mo

Golden State was a really interesting book, but the style wasn't my favorite.

I recommend it if you like dystopian/mysteries, and I wouldn't mind a follow up book because the ending kind of fell flat, but I don't think I'll be adding it to my forever shelf.

I loved the present story that was told. I loved the characters and some of the lines were beaitiful, heartbreaking, and poetic. But there was SO MANY jumps to the past and none of them were separated clearly. It was really off-putting. Then the whole book was from thr POV of two best friends who were separated by war. But we never got their reunion! Just the "I'm going to see this one" at the end. Bleh.

I loved this! I really connected with the MC, loved all the small details that showed me the author put herself into the characters, and the magic system was intriguing. The story kept me reading and I read it in a day (fast reader!) There are two more in the series that I'm dying to get in the mail soon. Amazing. 5 stars.

I like that Lorrek has magic and knows how to use it, vs struggling to understand it like a lot of fantasy books do. The hints at the backstory kept pulling me along and I enjoyed the story and imagery. My only complaint is the head-hopping within the same chapters, sometimes with up to four characters. I feel it would have been a smoother read had the author simply separated the hops with a small break or something.

I keep seeing posts about "Your favorite book in 2018"

The Culling is masterfully written. But it IS a YA book. So if you don't like that genre DON'T READ IT.

Seriously. Read it. Book two won an AWARD. It keeps beating out Divergent and Maze Runner in sales. Her third comes out in March and I'm SO excited!!! Also, this is available in Pixie Forest's book box this month along with Colliding Skies :) www.PixieforestPublishing.com

I'm participating in this challenge I found on Instagram. You use books you ALREADY own to get a bingo or blackout before the end of January. Who's in?

Redwritinghood I should do this since I have a ton of unread books, but I never stick to a plan when it comes to reading. 13mo
AuthorJensenReed I have been so bad about reading these last two years. Moving and depression made it so bad. I have about 10 books picked out that will give me a bingo or two and are part of my TBR.. I started a little group on FB for this reading challenge. You're welcome to join if you think it'll help! 13mo
