Glorious: A Science Fiction Novel | 
pickThis entire trilogy, starting with Bowl of Heaven, felt like a trip back to some old school sci-fi. Full of wonder and big ideas of alien constructs beyond imaging. It explores similar concepts as books like Ringworld, with some venturing into the territory of what it means to be conscious, and how the mind works. I found myself in awe at times.
