This is one of my favorite premises, however, as someone else wrote, it was good but not great. I love the drama that occurs when old friends and flames come together for a reunion, but this disaster of a reunion fell a little short of great for me. I had my suspicions of who the culprit was from the beginning and my intuition was ultimately correct. So a bit predictable and a lot of speculating without much action or twists and turns. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Good, not great - I hate saying that because I am certain that most authors pour their hearts and souls into their writing… it was good and I absolutely would recommend reading it, just wasn‘t my personal favorite.

The Girls Weekend by Jody Gehrman is a thrilling popcorn read that delves into how friendships can affect one another even years later. I connected with the suspense of this read, even though there were some aspects that felt over-dramatic, unrealistic, and predictable. However, with the combination of thoughtful description, an action-packed plot, and unexpected characters, this novel proves to be perfect choice for a summer reading list.

Despite what that blurb says, this was not “riveting, chilling, and page-turning.” It was twice as long as it needed to be, filled with characters who had zero sense or were totally self-centered (and often both!), and fell back on tired cliches about mental illness. Literally the best part of this novel was the description of the one character‘s grey cat, Mr. Bojangles, which literally only takes up a minute in this 9.5 hour audiobook.

Four college friends - or are they frienemies - meet up for a reunion. When the secrets come out, so do the claws, but some will pay more than others. Who do you trust when everybody's a suspect? I enjoyed my time with this twisty mystery but wish I hadn't pegged the culprit as early as I did.
