I saw this on a list of award-nominated books and looked to see if it was on my Libby app and amazingly it was available to borrow. I have read some mixed reviews but I'm excited to get it started! I have enjoyed this author in the past so we'll see if this one is the same! Will update with review when completed!

This book was okay, not my fave by this author and some of it didn't make sense but it kept me on my toes. I liked the ending though and it was a quick and easy listen I got in Audible. I love the narrator too, Karissa Vacker I believe is the name, I've heard many stories told by this narrator and I've looked most of them.⭐⭐⭐✨

Next up on my TBR is the tagged book because I enjoy Sandie Jones and I'm always looking for a good domestic thriller-- they are definitely my guilty pleasure books. I've read the mixed reviews on this book but I'm excited to deliver into it anyway.

Just finished this one and it was a another winner for me. I felt that the way the character Ani was written is true to the attitude of a young teenage girl. The content was disturbing and graphic and I cried several times while watching the movie but I felt like this book was bravely written, timely, And relevant and enjoyed it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I liked this one. It was a complex issue at hand. How do you react when your brother allegedly raped someone? It's definitely dark and twisty but I won't refute the reviews that claim it's a book full of rich people with rich people problems. Nevertheless, I love a good book with intense social issues and this one did not miss the mark for me. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

ICantImReading I really enjoyed this one, even though I‘ve noticed most on Litsy haven‘t been liking it much haha! Glad to not be alone! 😆 3d

This book was extremely twisted and I enjoyed every dark and creepy moment. But I'll warn you in advance that there's no answers regarding Mike and V's relationship or any clue as to whether V wanted Mike to behave the way he did. It wasn't until I read the authors note that I understood. I really enjoyed this book because it's about as dark and obsessive as a relationship can get. ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨

I'm moving in to this titled and I'm excited that Marin Ireland is the narrator. I'm only 7 chapters in but I'm hooked. It's another genre bending novel but these have been working out for me lately. Will update with review!!!

This was an interesting take on a coming off she story in The Big Apple 🍎🍏 I liked it because it was reminiscent of Sweet Bitter only with a gothic spin. It was definitely not a typical thriller but I liked the premise. I want fully engaged in the book though, distracted by Thanksgiving.

Bailedbailed

Well... All I can say is that I feel like I wasted the better part of a week trying to get through this book, it just didn't hold my attention from the beginning. There was also a LOT going on in this booj, possibly too much... It just didn't work for me and this IS my normal wheelhouse. So oh well, I bailed. Too much time wasted on this mess of a book.

Well, I'm a thriller kind of girl but I do love literary fiction as well so I'm going to give this a try. I was reading Secluded Cabin Sleeps Six and it did not keep my attention at all which is strange because it's my normal do to. I also have The Last Party on my audiobook shelve (Libby) and I could barely understand what was being says.. so all in all a bad week for some big name books for me. Hopefully this one will hit the holiday spot!

Well... This was just too mixed up and it there for me. Some of the dialogue was funny and interesting but I also was not that impressed with the premise... I mean "mild" canabalism in the name of beauty. Removing ribs... Yeah it's out there. Also the narration on this book horrible, I had to speed it up to 1.5x and it still had awkward pauses.

For the #NovelNovember #readathon I just completed my first book. It's not in the system yet bit it's titled The Silent Woman by Minka Kent. I'd say it's so-so. Fairly predictable, but a few interesting twists. Overall barely ⭐⭐⭐
I'll be switching formats from Libby to Kindle and I'll tag the book below 👇

When I Was You | Minka Kent
post image

Well this one isn't yet in the Litsy system but it's a thrilling new book by Minka Kent. The Silent Woman is a novel about young Jade whose has married the rich and handsome Wells Westmore. There's only one catch, his mute ex-wife lives in the guest cottage on the beautiful West Haven property and after a brief visit with Jade she ex- Mrs Westmore gives Jade a note saying RUN but nothing else...

I've got this one on audio in my car and I find myself sitting in my driveway because I'm so drawn in to the story. I watched the movie and I love Mila Kunis but I found it very difficult to watch. It was so dark and disturbing and heavy I was crying ugly tears throughout. The book has been much more manageable so far.

I really enjoyed this book. Sveta, a Russian American ex-model, received a surprising phone call from the man, Lucas, who ghosted her after taking her virginity. Lucas, now a lawyer, was entrusted to fulfill Sveta's uncle's last wishes. Sveta is the only one who can set things right at Xanadu but is her life worth the battle? I'm a sucker from suspenseful novel with a touch of romance! Solid ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I really enjoyed this one and devoured the whole thing in a weekend! This book is timely and captivating. I was drawn in to Jane's pov as she went through the process of being a very well paid surrogate. This book has some important messages about race, gender roles, and procreation in a time when women want more. The only thing that disappointed me was the outcome, however I realize it's probably the most likely end to a situation like this. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

So far this book has kept my attention without any problems! I'm not sure why so many people didn't like it, perhaps because it's not a traditional thriller but I've enjoyed the audiobook so far. The Family Game: A Novel | Catherine Steadman
post image
Pickpick

I liked this one a lot, but I'm a fan of all of Steadman's books so far. This one I got on audio and I loved the narration which was done by the author. I usually enjoy when an author narrates because they are telling the story exactly how they want it to be heard. And this one did not disappoint! Harriett is about to marry the man she loves. Everything would be perfect, if it weren't for the strange games the family plays... Or would it?

I had a hard time with this one, especially because of the cliff hanger, it left too many loose ends and that's a pet peeve of mine. Also, the writing was a little novice but I would sample a book from this author again. I think she has a lot of potential.

This book is exactly what I expected with one thing I didn't quite figure out till the end. I had pretty good idea of the culprit from the beginning and their reasoning after learning more. I think the key to enjoying this book is in remembering that's it's YA. It was an easy listen and it had plenty of 90's slasher flick references. I enjoyed it despite figuring things out.

This is by far my favorite novel by Feeney. I was questioning everything and everyone. I guessed a bit of it but only because everyone was a suspect until each character starts dying off.
