Should I Choose to Die Again
Should I Choose to Die Again | Lauren Stinton
1 post | 1 read | 1 to read
Welcome to King's Barrow, where the gifts have lived side by side for hundreds of years: flamemakers, jewelers, weathermakers, growers, artists, seers, alchemists-and healers, like seventeen-year-old Hamal. He knows he isn't the best, or even the smartest, healer in the city. He isn't good with numbers, and he always leaves scars. The other night when he saved the dead man-well, he just did the best he could. He doesn't mean to get a job working for the king. And he doesn't mean to save the kingdom from a dangerous foe who's killing the king's healers. All he means to do is save his new friend. Funny how life works out sometimes. "From the opening sentence, Lauren Stinton draws her audience into an extraordinary world of seers and sages, healers and prophets in her latest novel, Should I Choose to Die Again. Readers from age ten to adult will find themselves enchanted as Stinton's lovely story of life unfolds in a world quite different from our own-and yet perhaps not so very different at all. Hope prevails in this fantastic world of mystery and intrigue. Stinton's work is reminiscent of both C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien in many ways. A delightful yarn for readers both young and old. Highly recommended." - Jane and Steve Lambert, author and publisher Five in a Row curriculum

Pickpick

This fantasy book is perfect for young readers. Lots of plot, adventure, and danger without any sex, nauseating romance, or graphic violence. I'd say good for the 8-14 age range. Hamal is an intriguing, relatable character and I still can't help running over the plot in my mind! I'm 21 and easily enjoyed this book. 💕📚
