Don't Tell Anyone: A Mystery
Don't Tell Anyone: A Mystery | Eleanor Gray
5 posts | 3 read | 5 to read
Art historian Grace Neville watches Jordan Dukes sentenced for the murder of her teenage daughter, Tara. A few days later, as she attempts to come to terms with her loss, she receives a visit from Jordan’s father, Alan, who claims that his son is innocent and that a grave miscarriage of justice has taken place. Jordan’s violent history in a notorious gang, plus the fact that he doesn’t have an alibi, makes Alan’s story a hard sell . . . until someone breaks into Grace’s home and goes through Tara’s belongings. In Don’t Tell Anyone, Eleanor Gray explores the relationship between a mother and her daughter, and the secrets that drive Grace to start asking questions before it’s too late.

I wanted to like this book, but I was not able to get into it. I forced myself to finish it. The writing style wasn't impressive. The characters were meh. And aside from Grace and Allan, who the reader could emotionally connect with, the characters were surprisingly flat. I forced myself to finish this. And I was meh about all the twists and turns. Reviewsbylola I hate when I have to force myself to finish a book. Great picture though! 7y
literarilythrilling @Reviewsbylola hehe thanks! Yeah sometimes it's not worth it. But when I have an ARC I try hard to finish it. If I was just reading this, I would have DNF-ed it without a second though. 7y

I really liked this book! It hooked me from the first page and the pace never lagged. It's a great novel about family, deception, secrets, and lies...oh and of course a murder to be solved. Kept me guessing until the end. Great read!
Thanks to NetGalley and Midnight Ink!

As far as mysteries go, this was a pretty good read. It didn't blow me away but it wasn't bad, either. ???3 stars, in between a "pick" and "so-so." Thank you to Netgalley and Midnight Ink for an advance copy of this in exchange for an honest review.

I changed my mind--I think I'm more in the mood for a mystery. Going to start this one instead.
