1. Enid Blyton and Terry Pratchett! Also Nora Roberts.
2. I had a pretty perfect night in Feb,at a blues Fest in Bombay, where Keb Mo and the Kenny Wayne shepherd Band played 2 near perfect sets, and the food( and alcohol) were EXCELLENT!
3. The beginning of the tagged book is in the late 60s,that talks about the genesis of a lot of great bands, and I would love to be a sessions musician then!( I can't play anything at all IRL)😄

Cinfhen Great playlist my beautiful musical free spirit and happy end to your birthday month 💚 5y

#BookMail Pt10 is the infamous Led Zeppelin biography that catalogues all their debauchery while on tour, including Jimmy Pages obsession with Aleister Crowley & his fondness for young ‘women‘ and also the legend of the drummer, a groupie and a fish. Don‘t ask. They burned bright for a decade before it all ended in tragedy & tears. #ImAGoldenGod!🌟

RvnclawWhovian My all time favorite rock band 🙌🏻 Can‘t wait to hear what you think of the book 5y
Lizpixie @WanderingBookaneer not yet! Though I do have two very beautiful editions of it! I was going to read Seven Husbands first which is also on my #MountTBRStacksOfDoom 5y
Lizpixie @RvnclawWhovian mine too, ever since sitting in my brothers caravan as a kid & listening to his records. I‘ve heard wild things about this book. 5y
WanderingBookaneer I look forward to reading what you think of that one. 5y

Pickpick

Epic rock and roll book that for once focuses on the music instead of the groupies and drugs. You'll learn there's more to Led Zeppelin than a quick rise to stardom, drug abuse, and the death of their drummer before it all ended.

If there's such a thing as pulp non-fiction, this is it. Davis's writing is lurid, self-indulgent, and ridiculous. But it's also undeniably fun to read (a description of the band as a hard-rock Robin Hood gang--with Plant as Maid Marian--leaps to mind). One is left wondering how much of Davis's account is true, but without the mystery and raised eyebrows and vague accusations of pacts with the devil, it really wouldn't be Led Zeppelin. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

MrBook Nice review! 😊 8y

There has always been something about music and the lives of virtuoso musicians that carries with it the whiff of brimstone.
