Into The Forest And All The Way Through is a collection of true crime poetry that explores the cases of over one hundred missing and murdered women in the United States."This book shook me, ripped my heart out, and haunts me still. Into the Forest and All the Way Through shines a harsh light on a subject society has been far too content to ignore...and it's about goddamn time. This Is a vital collection." -Kealan Patrick Burke, Bram Stoker Award-winning author of Sour Candy

(2021) This is a collection of true-crime poetry: each poem is based on a different actual case of a missing or murdered woman or girl. I have very mixed feelings about this: for me it often felt simplistic and monothematic. But then I don't read much poetry and even less true crime, so I'm probably missing nuances. I do admire author Pelayo's talent for imagery, though, so if the description sounds like your thing, do check it out.

vivastory I've heard Pelayo read a couple of poems & wasn't terribly impressed, but I'm curious about 2y
swynn I think I'll stack that one too: I think the premise & form of this one just didn't work for me. I'd definitely try her fiction 2y

I wasn't sure what to think about a book of True Crime poetry, but these short poems packed a mighty punch. Ms. Pelayo is a wonderful poet, and each poem gave you an understanding of the victims and the crime in a way that was wholly unique to the True Crime genre. (Cont. ⬇️)

CoffeeK8 The poems were completely focused on the victim in a way that made each poem personal, yet provided very few details leaving the reader to fill in the blanks. It made it a much more intimate and personal experience. 3y
