7 posts | 20 read | 7 to read
"A keep-you-engaged-to-the-very-last-page thriller" (USA TODAY) from New York Times bestselling author Greg Iles--an unforgettable plunge into a world of sex, violence, marital betrayal, medical malpractice, and Southern intrigue...all of which takes place in one furious, terrifying day. In the span of twenty-four hours, everything Laurel Shields believes about her life and her marriage to a prominent doctor will be shattered--if she survives a terrifying ordeal. The day begins with the jarring discovery that, soon after ending an affair, Laurel is pregnant. But when she returns home to find her husband ashen, unkempt, and on the brink of violence, a nightmare quickly unfolds. In the heart of an idyllic Mississippi town, behind the walls of her perfect house, Laurel is locked in a volatile standoff with a husband she barely recognizes. Confronted by evidence of her betrayal, she must tread a deadly path between truth and deception while a ring of armed police prepares a dangerous rescue. But Laurel's only hope lies with her former lover, a man whom fate has granted the power to save both Laurel and her children--if she can protect his identity long enough...

What do you do when you come home to find your husband waiting for you, with a gun, looking for answers about your affair? Laura doesn‘t know but she‘ll do her best to figure it out.

Third Degree is fantastic story of #deception and how all #secrets eventually come out.

Slow paced, Greg Iles is still an amazing writer no matter what.

We will see where this goes, so far it‘s a lot of awkward conversations and descriptions of bad vs good sex lives.... anyone read this? Does it get better?

Greg Iles never disappoints me. I enjoy his style of writing. This story contains a woman married to a doctor, she has an affair, ends the affair and discovers she is pregnant. Then her husband goes off the deep end by discovering her affair but doesn't know who she had it with. On top of this his practice is targeted for fraud. Lots of surprises with the typical Greg Iles explosive ending.
