Immer noch New York | Lily Brett
5 posts | 3 read

Pickpick

Oh, I so much love this. More than I thought, I would. It‘s warm, and cosy, and positive without being shallow, or vapid, or cardboard. I think, it was just what I needed.

And I liked what she said about her life when she went through old photos and documents. That it obviously must have been very happy (although she obviously had forgotten).

I am very curious for Lily Brett now. I might read one of her novels sooner or later.
Okay later. 😉

LapReader Try In Full View. It‘s one of my favourites ever. 3y

Yesterday‘s prompt @jb72 took for her #30DaysOfGratitude was “See if you can get through 1 day without falling back on negative thoughts. If you start to, reflect back on all you have to be grateful for!”

Reminded me of the above poem that I first met as I tattoo on @TheFunkyBookworm 💗.

Yesterday‘s gratitude:
1) Got things done
2) Was happy with 1)
3) The re-watch of a video of a family celebration and that made my heart burst with joy‼️🤩

jb72 That is a wonderful quote! 3y

During the last 3 years I really tried to fill a jar with little notes that have things on them that have been good in each week throughout the year. And even though I really like the idea I was unable to persist. Maybe because I like writing but became mostly digital during the last decade. But @ElizaMarie and her #SelfcareBingo encouraged me together with @jb72 and her #30DaysOfGratitude to try once more with something similar. ⬇️

Buechersuechtling (continued) – I started with buying a tiny, ordinary pad because I want to see if those new habits work for me. If they do I will think about buying a nicer one for 2021. Additionally, by starting with keeping things simple I avoid that fear of ruining a nice journal by “bad” “artwork” or by sloppy writing or so. 😊😇 You know❓ Raise a hand if you do. 🔚 (edited) 3y
jb72 🙋🏼‍♀️ I fully understand. I‘m always like ugh! But recently I‘ve decided to just go with the flow. I‘ve actually been thinking of starting a jar of Gratitude. 3y
ElizaMarie This is a great idea! I had also attempted something similar but then wasn't able to follow through. I hope you are able to follow through with your self care! Its so so important :) and You DESERVE it! 3y

@LapReader When I saw your comment this morning, the first thing I thought was: “A pillow book‼️ 😃 That might be exactly what I need.”

And I was so right. I instantly connected to Lily after the audiobook started playing. I also am the planning type and I also don‘t like to go for a walk without a destination. So far, I love how she describes New York. So vivid, so colourful.

And Lily‘s German voice, Elke Heidenreich, reads it fabulously.

I am having absolutely no clue who Lily Brett is but I like the cover and so I checked this one out when I stumbled across it at my online library while looking for new audiobooks. Should be a fast “read”; total playing time about 2 hours.

LapReader She was Australian once upon a time. I read it in bed one morning. Enjoy. 3y
