Goodbye, Orchid
Goodbye, Orchid | Carol Van Den Hende
2 posts | 2 read | 1 to read
Rising from ashes is hard. Giving up the one you love is harder. Thirty-two year-old Phoenix Walker is an entrepreneur who has built an agency with a heart almost as big as his own. To add to his good fortune, he's falling for Orchid Paige, the beautiful half-Asian marketer who's collaborated with him on a winning military campaign. Until an accident changes him forever. Now, he's faced with the hardest decision of his life. Does he burden the woman whose traumatic childhood makes him feel protective of her? Or does true love mean leaving her without explaining why?

Pickpick

The author has delivered a real page turner! A story of love, sacrifice, and resilience. This story is very raw with emotion. The author has very realistically presented a character going through the stages of grief – facing the loss of the life he had, trying to build a new life, the blow to his self-esteem, and the perception of how others may now see him.

Mehso-so

Phoenix and Orchid are a new couple. Orchid leaves on business. A Good Samaritan act on Phoenix‘s part changes life as he knows it. He decides to push Orchid away. Phoenix struggles to put his life back together. Orchid struggles with what changed. A reunion and redemption story is sweeter when you feel like you took a journey with the characters. Despite this, I would recommend to anyone who likes stories about second chances and strong will.
