Faking this relationship should be a piece of cake. Retta Majors is having a bad day. But that's to be expected when your ex gets engaged to your cousin. Instead of (totally) freaking out, Retta decides to attend the wedding with her amazing, faithful, and handsome boyfriend. One problem...He doesn't exist. Duncan Gilmore is living his dream. His boxing gym is open for business, and he's focused on success. The last thing on his mind is a relationship. That is until the beautiful baker next door makes him an offer so bizarre, he can't refuse. One weekend of pretending to be Retta's boyfriend should be easy. However, shared kisses and some flirting start to blur the lines in their fake relationship. When their performance draws to a close, will they go their separate ways or return for an encore? This novel is a standalone.Content Notes: A pregnant secondary character

After almost 2 1/2 years, CoVID finally got me. I have my snuggle buddy, some light reading, and lots of fluids. Gonna try to take it easy. Maybe I‘ll finish a book or two? 🤒

brittanyreads I hope it's a mild case and you're back to new in a few days! I just had it too for the first time. 2y

Pickpick

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really enjoyed this quick romance novel, and was impressed with the amount of character development Grace was able to fit in along with some great laugh-out-loud one liners.
It was a great Christmas break read, & I‘ll probably check out more of her work in the future.

That was a fun a read but it ended too abruptly.

Mehso-so

It pains me to give this a so-so. The grammar problems were pointing that way already (not to mention the “admittance” that should have been “admission”), but there should have been 5-10 more pages of resolution and it just ended. I like the sassiness of the finale, but none of the miscommunication was resolved. Too abrupt. Debut novel was better.

Current read opening line:

There were only two things Retta Majors truly hated: 1. low-rise jeans 2. people who smugly corrected anyone who misidentified Frankenstein as the monster.

rabbitprincess I totally agree on low-rise jeans! Was so happy when I finally found a pair of high-rise jeans. 4y
Hooked_on_books Yes on the low rise jeans! They flatter no one and I don‘t want to see everyone‘s crack when they sit down! 4y
