When Laura Ingalls Wilder was born it was the age of pioneers. When she died it was the beginning of the jet Age. Will we/ have we seen as much change in our lifetime?
Finished this off last night. Laura wrote many things in her letters & journaling that I found noteworthy. I kept looking up from it to tell my husband. He humored me on some things, got a little pulled in himself on others. She took the time to write down whether the coffee was good or bad at the diners on the 1931 road trip, which amused me greatly. I can certainly relate, it still made me laugh. Or maybe because I can relate, it made me laugh.
This is just one of the interesting bits that Laura wrote to Manly during her visit to see Rose in San Francisco, 1915.
I read her journal titled "On the Way Home" for the first time during #24in48 and found out there were more writings. I requested this from the library and picked it up today. It has letters she wrote in 1915 and a journal from a 1931 road trip. I look forward to seeing the world through her eyes again.
