Shambhala: The Sacred Path of the Warrior
Shambhala: The Sacred Path of the Warrior | Chogyam Trungpa
3 posts | 6 read | 3 to read
There is a basic human wisdom that can help solve the worlds problems. It doesnt belong to any one culture or region or religious traditionthough it can be found in many of them throughout history. Its what Chgyam Trungpa called the sacred path of the warrior. The sacred warrior conquers the world not through violence or aggression, but through gentleness, courage, and self-knowledge. The warrior discovers the basic goodness of human life and radiates that goodness out into the world for the peace and sanity of others. Thats what the Shambhala teachings are all about, and this is the book that has been presenting them to a wide and appreciative audience for more than twenty years.

quote
Wanderer18

“Our life is an endless journey; it is like a broad highway that extends infinitely into the distance. The practice of meditation provides a vehicle to travel on that road. Our journey consists of constant ups and downs, hope and fear, but it is a good journey. The practice of meditation allows us to experience all the textures of the roadway, which is what the journey is all about.” - Chögyam Trungpa

Mehso-so

Book only used he and man which was annoying. Pretty simple guide to meditation. Some beautiful chapters on introspection and the self
