pickA decent historical romance with a unique premise that was a quick and easy read. It contains, however, the slimiest, most repulsive antagonist I‘ve run across in a long time. For anyone who‘s old enough to remember the Eddie Haskell character from Leave It to Beaver, think Eddie on steroids 🤣🤣
Throwback to last night, when I ate miso eggplant steaks and read a bit of THE INCONVENIENT DUCHESS. I meant to use this book in yesterday‘s TBR post, but when I read the jacket copy I had serious doubts it‘d survive the 3-chapter test. It seemed safer to post about something else and try the book right away.
And hey, I really like it so far! It‘s not nearly as skeevy as the copy makes it sound, and I‘m already invested in everyone‘s secrets.
