Another amazing book by Sofia Segovia!
Segovia certainly has a way of showing the overlooked points of view in historical events. This one tells the story of several different characters during WWII. In the beginning, some of them are in support of Hitler, which I didn‘t like at first. But pretty quickly those characters learn what fools they had been. Each character was touched irrevocably and tragically by the war. Segovia does a beautiful job connecting them all.
My next listen. I loved The Murmur of Bees so I hope Segovia won‘t disappoint with this one as well.
5🌟Remarkably moving saga of love and courage. This story focuses on two war torn families, Ilse's and Arno's. As the story takes us through the years of WW2, these children become all too farmiliar with the horrors, hunger, hardships and grief of living through war times. Their resilience and grit conjures such compassion. It really gives an eye opening look at what German citizens went through in a war they didn't ask for. Out in May! #arc
An Amazon first pick. Not set in #Mexico but by a Mexican-born author, so could work for #foodandlit in November.
I got this for free through Amazon Prime's First Reads! I love the cover ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ It's not my usual type of read, but I'm excited to give it a try!
