I wasn‘t sure how well a novel in verse would translate, but they did an excellent job keeping the rhymes and feel of each verse. The story follows Eugene Onegin(e) a socialite bored with society, who spurns friendship and love. I don‘t want to give too much away but it was pretty good!Apparently it has made the big screen twice.

Disappointingly this illustrated version just had the three pictures at the start! š¤£

Starting an ebook rather than continuing with a physical one while the dog is sat on me!
I managed to find this illustrated edition of Eugene Onegin for #Russia #FoodAndLit

I‘m excited to see how well a novel in verse translates (as I imagine it is not as impressive as in the original Russian which alas I cannot read), and to see all the illustrations, especially as we have some of Pushkin‘s sketches!
