Oh My Gods!, the first in a new middle grade graphic novel series, reads as if Raina Telgemeier and Rick Riordan teamed up to write a comic, and offers a fresh and funny spin on Greek mythology. When an average girl moves to Mt. Olympus, she discovers her new classmates are gods and mythological creatures are actually realas if junior high isn't hard enough! Karen is just an average thirteen-year-old from New Jersey who loves to play video games with her friends and watch movies with her mom. But when she moves to Greece to live with her eccentric, mysterious father, Zed, suddenly everything she thought about herselfabout lifeis up in the air. Starting a new school can be difficult, but starting school at Mt. Olympus Junior High, where students are gods and goddesses, just might take the cake. Especially when fellow classmates start getting turned to stone. Greek mythology . . . a little less myth, a little more eek! And if Karens classmates are immortal beings, who does that make her?

This was a really fun MG graphic novel starring Karen, who moves in with her dad (Zed) and realizes there‘s something unusual about her new middle school at Mt Olympus. As she‘s navigating these new environs, things get more complicated when people start being turned to stone. Is Karen somehow responsible? Her new crew help her investigate the mystery. Warning: cliffhanger ending.

A cute adaptation of Greek mythology! I enjoyed the less than subtle mythology antics that the main character had no idea about throughout. It was a little weird that even though she didn't connect any dots on all of this mythology, she immediately has a guess on what the monster is. Overall, a fun middle grade graphic novel. #GreekMythology #Adaptation #Comics

I love Greek mythology, so this was a blast! I loved the ways it stuck to the traditional stories and also deviated from them in interesting ways.
