30 Things I Love About Myself
30 Things I Love About Myself | Radhika Sanghani
3 posts | 4 read | 7 to read
30 Things I Love About Myself is the exuberant, witty, irresistible, hilarious and unforgettable story of Nina Mistry, who finds herself accidentally locked in a prison cell on the night of her 30th birthday, where she discovers a tatty little self-help book that will inspire her to take a long hard look at her life, who she really is and what she wants - and to put into action a self-love journey like no other! This is a book for anyone who has ever had a self-worth wobble, or is watching someone they love struggle; it is for anyone who has ever failed, and got themselves back up again; or whose life has veered off the tracks. If you love . . . - emotionally intelligent, fresh, sophisticated commercial fiction - your humour and brilliantly drawn characters mixed with a clever and insightful feminist take on - diversity in the media, casual sexism, racism, beauty ideals, online abuse and true self-care - the - rare - kinds of books that, as soon as you finish, you immediately want to pass on to the women in your life you love most . . . then you will LOVE 30 Things I Love About Myself

This was a fun, easy read that got my reading mojo back. I enjoyed the ride through the main character‘s journey to finding herself, as well as her family backstory. It was a bit of a quick and easy resolution to main character achieving her goal, although the oscillations of mental health were acknowledged through the character‘s brother. Overall, an upbeat book that kept me engaged

⭐️⭐️💫This was an interesting one-it reads like Sanghani was trying to choose between writing a novel and a self-help book &just decided to combine them into one instead. I think a self-love journey is valuable, but novel-form was a weird choice. There were sometimes full paragraphs quoted from the self-help book the main character reads, which got tedious.I liked how the relationship with her brother was shown but won‘t read more from this author.
