A Bookshop Christmas: A wonderfully uplifting festive read | Rachel Burton

A snowstorm. A stranger. A spark. And it's Christmas! It should be the perfect start to the perfect love story, but real life is far messier and more complicated than that...

A good festive read featuring a dark brooding writer, a bookshop and a dog. What more could you want! Megan is a widow and closes herself off from the world. She goes back to her childhood home and helps her mum run the family bookshop. When a renowned author launches his new book at the store, sparks fly. Friends and family encourage Megan to come out from the shadows and to start living again. A slow burn romance that leads to great things 4🌟

I have a tendency to read fall and Christmas in summer- probably bc my midwestern soul shrivels in this heat 😂 this was a cute listen. Some heavy topics with death and divorce, but it didn‘t detract from making the plot romancy.

This was a cute holiday read. It addressed some heavy topics (grief, divorce, etc), but did it in a complimentary way to the romance plot.

I loved this and the book club sounds amazing though I'd pass on the dancing. I like all the book references and now have some new choices to look up. The story itself is really good. It focuses on grief and how its handled which is a tough subject but handled well. I loved the moment with Joe's parents at the end. The ending itself was beautiful and I liked how Megan discovered herself and what she truly wanted. #Netgalley 5* #Mistletoe Maniacs
