Had this one for a while. Starting this one tonight….
Day 2 in Wales 🏴
Spent the morning waterfall climbing ⛰️🐾🐶❤️
Flick and Johnathan receive an urgent summons from the Pirate Queen Nyfe. They pack their bags and head to ‘The Break‘. The Break has ships disappearing, the edge of their world is on the brink of collapse. Flick now has a plan to help them escape. A brilliant sequel full of magical adventures that will allow you to travel to new worlds. New characters were introduced who were relatable and mystical creatures who sounded so magical.
A beautiful morning spent at Bala lake. Going back to the lodge now to read in the sun on the veranda
🏔️🐶🐾😎
We made it to Bala. Our home and view for the next 5 days ❤️🐾🐶😎

Last night I finished the first book so now I‘m going straight on to book two. Book three is on hold at the library. 📚
Keeping cool today with homemade banana and peach lollies 🐶🐾😎😋

This has been on my TBR list for a while. At the Strangeworlds Travel Agency, there are 100s of suitcases being cared for by Johnathon. He has his own adventure to go on. By stepping into a suitcase you are magically transported into different worlds. 12 year old Flick enters the shop one day and everything changes. I love the idea of stepping into different worlds, I just got hold of book two. The series has so much potential!
#two4tuesday
1. Always. I just keep adding to it. 📝
2. Tagged. One of my favourite books. The MC finds a list of books which she reads and passes on to someone else. 📕
I‘ve had this for a while so as I‘m trying to read as many of my own books. Why not start it tonight?
Grey Brooks, an up and coming Hollywood star and Ethan, a reclusive A lister star are put into a fake relationship. With the hope of both boosting their careers. Although it‘s meant to be a PR stunt, it‘s obvious that it is so much more than what was planned.
Even though Hollywood can be fake, how do they recognise the real thing?
This is not a light easy read as it deals with grief, addiction and the price of fame. A great debut.
#wondrouswednesday
1. Film - The Twilight saga and all the Harry Potter movies
TV - Virgin River and Heartstopper
2. I loved staying up late playing Monopoly and eating all the snacks 😂
I tagged Jumanji (one of my favourite films and books to read)
This morning we walked along the canal and found a beautiful gathering of baby cygnets 🐾🐶❤️🦢
They were so fluffy but nosey 😂

Laura picks up the wrong suitcase at the airport. After peeking at its contents Laura begins to search for the owner. Along the way she gains help from the local taxi driver - Ted. Ted is full of gruffness and wit but it makes her cab rides entertaining. The journey set in Jersey leaves Laura rethinking her outlook on love and what she wants from it.
This book is typical of a rom-com but this adds to its charm and humour. 4🌟
#Two4Tuesday
1. Somewhere hot with a beach and with historical places to visit too
2. Anything that is la least the fluffy beach read 🏖️
Starting this tonight, another from my long TBR list on my kindle.
I must not read past my bedtime. Need to be up early for work 🥱🤣📕
Brother and sister - Jude and Taylor, discover a dead body when they arrive at their holiday rental. A bounty hunter (Myles) arrives to catch the killer as a favour for a friend. A grumpy and sunshine story line - a kind, caring primary teacher and a rough around the edges bounty hunter. What could go wrong? Taylor and Myles become a murder solving team. Great chemistry with these two MCs and the writing keeps you guessing!
#wondrouswednesday

A day late - sorry x
1. I love older names so something like Elspeth, Elsie or Ophelia
2. I couldn‘t think of one so typed my name in as a book title and found this!
Thanks for posting @Kappadeemom
Just signed up for #campnetgalley and taking part in week one activity 🏕️
Echo Ridge is a small town that Ellery and her brother Ezra, are both sent to live in. They share their home with their estranged grandmother. The town is only famous for one thing - teenage girls going missing or found dead.
Homecoming at high school is a deadly season, another girl goes missing so Ellery starts digging. Not into just the missing girls past but her own mothers too. Fast paced, full of details and definitely mysterious. 4🌟

Having spent the week at home recovering I still managed 5 joys ☺️
1. Helping Keira pack for her college trip to Barcelona. She‘s so excited! ✈️
2. New enrichment toys for Belle and Lola 🐾
3. Birthday shopping list for my hubby 🛍️
4. England are through to next stage in Euros 🏴
5. New books - a treat from my hubby ❤️
I‘m not surprised my score was much lower this week. 2010s were spent bringing up my two girls. I seemed to have watched a lot of Disney films ❤️
I couldn‘t choose three films so I chose 3 franchises I loved instead.
🌟 Harry Potter
🌟 Twilight Saga
🌟 Marvel
Thank you for the tag @Eggs @dabbe
Maddie is allergic to the world and never leaves her house. The only people she can see are her mum and her nurse, Carla.
That is until the new neighbours move in and she sees Olly. Tall, dark and staring up at her. They begin talking through the window and signs, until one day they finally meet.
This book makes you think and feel many things. I felt engaged throughout. It included many memorable quotes, short chapters and was a great YA read.
As a hormonal pregnant mum to be, I remember this book so vividly! This quote ❤️

I‘ve been quiet on #litsy as I had a small operation last week. I ended back up in hospital because I had an allergic reaction to the dressing which was awful (only I would do that 🤣) I‘ve been off work all week but at least the weather has been lovely in the UK so I can read in the garden 🪴
I couldn‘t do the newsletter this month but #litsylove cohosts helped find someone else. Thank you ☺️

What a great idea!
A book from my wish list 🤔
I‘m going to choose: A botanist‘s guide to parties and poisons by Kate Khavari
Good luck everyone 🤞
Richard is a as quiet, middle aged Englishman, running a B&B in rural France. One day, a guest disappears and another guest (Valerie) encourages him to join in with her investigating the disappearance.
I couldn‘t relate to any of the characters even though some were quite quirky. The story line was very confusing and didn‘t answer all my questions. Unfortunately it didn‘t hold my interest and as a result took me a while to finish.
The sun came out in Worcester today. Thought I‘d show you where I live 🏡
Belle and Lola eating their lunch in the garden. I‘m making the most of sun so reading my book 🐾🤣

1. My only reading goal for 2024 was to try and read as many of my own physical and ebooks. I‘m trying not to buy new books but keep adding them to my TBR! 🤣
2. I don‘t really make plans, I‘m a pretty cover girl 🤔
3. Reading helps me calm myself at nighttime. It helps me switch off into a different world. Armchair travel is free! 🌍 I‘ve taught my girls how important reading is and now they are both keen readers too ❤️
I‘ve been reading rom-com and YA recently so thought I‘d give cosy mystery a go….

A neurodivergent girl called Addie learns at school that her hometown burnt witches because they were deemed different. The witches were just like Addie - different. Addie works to start up a memorial to remember those who were punished.
Addie shows great power and strength unlike some of the adults in her life. It is a touching and powerful book. This book needs to be in every classroom and adults made to read it too!
Picked this up from the library earlier and starting tonight. 🛌

This has been on my book shelf for a few years. A whopping 756 pages!
Twilight was an iconic love story. I loved all the books and the movies. The books only told Bella‘s story but Midnight Sun tells Edward‘s version.
Starting on the first day they meet at school, the reader finds out unknown details about Edwards life, family and how his thoughts work.
It was so easy to immerse myself back into the world of vampires.

1. Finally started this book after having had it for about five years 📕

3. Had the vets today - Belle has been signed off 😊
4. Had a brilliant time at the Food & Garden Show 🪴
5. I‘ve just had a phone call for a job I applied for…interview arranged for next Tuesday 👍🏻
Thank you for the tag @TheSpineView
I took my mum to the Garden and Food show today in Birmingham. There were some stunning floral displays and so many hand crafted items. The food was amazing too! 🌺
