I enjoyed this Christmas story set in Shetland. It was the only Christmas read I managed this December.

Overall I'm charmed with this series. Yes there were some moments when characters were being extremely annoying but as expected all works out in the end. And while the 1st Book From Shetland With Love had me wanting to grow Delphiniums this one with its focus on the crafters at Lerwick Manor Gallery has me wanting to get out my knitting needles.

Author's Facebook Group says there are two more books to come and I'll definitely be reading.⬇️

.

Crinoline_Laphroaig While this doesn't quite manage to turn Shetland into a Character like Ann Cleeves' books do, it does have some good Shetland moments. (Sorry, but all Books set in Shetland get judged in reference to Shetland Mysteries. Which is probably unfair because Ann Cleeves is kind of the Master of turning Setting into Character. ⬇️ 2y
Crinoline_Laphroaig As for the At Christmas, the story starts long before Christmas but the end chapters feature some beauty Holiday moments including Hogmanay. There‘s also recipes in the Kindle Bonus Material.

And suddenly #PemberLittens Wuthering Heights is all over my reading. I think it's a sign that #WanderingThroughWutheringHeights is a meant to be......
‘What are you reading?‘
‘Wuthering Heights. I read it many years ago but wanted to reread it.‘
‘I don‘t read classics.‘
‘Not at all?‘
‘Nah. I can‘t see the point . . . especially those romantic ones.‘
My expression creases in annoyance as he dismisses my choice.
‘Sorry if that offends.‘....⬇️

Crinoline_Laphroaig ‘The way I see it, those books are like girl meets boy, girl fancies boy, girl moons over boy. Boy finally notices her, decides to chance his hand and then they enter that whole “will they, won‘t they, dare we, dare we not” situation . . . before they get it together and job done – book over. If you‘ve read one, you‘ve read the lot . . .‘⬇️ 2y
Crinoline_Laphroaig ‘No, seriously, think about it: Austen, the Brontës and—‘ I snap my book shut, ending his sentence. ‘You don‘t agree?‘ ‘No. I. Don‘t. Wuthering Heights defines a passionate and complex relationship, yet you make it sound like a twisted romcom, making it a waste of time reading it.‘⬇️ 2y
Crinoline_Laphroaig I sip my wine and calm my breath. ‘Heathcliff is just a brooding menace who lets the girl slip through his hands before taking revenge. No decent bloke does that. No wonder he‘s haunted by the young girl‘s ghost.‘ 2y

rubyslippersreads This sounds fun. Do I need to have read the first book? 2y
Crinoline_Laphroaig @rubyslippersreads you don't have to. The characters from the 1st book are there but not the main story. 2y
