Sounds like @Eggs and I are on the same wavelength. It‘s an ongoing project, but I‘ve been decluttering. The “reward” is that I‘ve found some childhood books I was looking for. 😃

I‘m thankful to L. M. Montgomery for all of her books, but especially for my very favorite book of all time, Emily of New Moon.
Thanks for the tag @Eggs. Tagging anyone who wants to play!

Happy Halloween to all who celebrate! (Though I‘m pretty sure we all celebrate books and candy.) 🎃

Wishing the happiest of birthdays to @LeahBergen , who is obviously serious about her reading. 😉
Have a wonderful day, dear friend. 😘

I‘m currently reading this romance, which I must confess I picked for the cover. Ingrid and her longtime boyfriend are taking a break, so she‘s dating other guys, while also having a massive crush on a co-worker. How it will all turn out, I have no idea, but I do ❤️ Edmond the cat. 😸

I‘m so excited to have been approved for this #ARC. I‘m not usually a horror fan, but the author had me when she described her book as “ ,,, ghosts and murders... in a Mormon polygamist manor!” #netgalley

NO SNOW!!! No matter how appealing it may seem in books, I just know I‘d end up like Amy, falling through the ice. 😆

The Wicked Witch of the West, of course! And I 💚 Margaret Hamilton‘s version most of all. Baum‘s original wasn‘t green, so without Maggie, we wouldn‘t have Elphaba. 🧹
#SundayFunday

I‘m looking forward to reading this during the spooky season, my pretties! 🧹

Although her experience was much more foreboding, something like this might have been what Jo-an was doing when she ate the apple in front of the mirror. Poor thing—she died from her association with Ronald Graham, but no consequences for him.
The only male I could like unreservedly was Tara. 🐶
#FurrowedMiddleBrowClub

I really enjoyed this. At first it seemed like the story of a young girl growing up on a ranch, with an almost idyllic life, but the detail about Ernestine‘s future revealed that the story was going to get darker. This is my first Ethel Wilson, but won‘t be my last.
Does anyone else think that Hetty would be able to get herself out of trouble in Austria, no matter how ominous the last lines? 😏
#PersephoneClub

Look at this quote from the casting director of the new “Wuthering Heights” movie. “Just a book,” indeed. 😠
(Tagged book is what I actually expect this film to be based on. 🤣)

Mrs. Fish is one of my favorite characters on The Gilded Age, so I‘m looking forward to this (especially because the audiobook is read by the actress who plays her on the show).

Here‘s my #readyourkindle list for August. I‘ve been wanting to read one of the many vintage pony books I‘ve been ordering from Jane Badger Books, and I need to read my ARCs, so this is quite serendipitous. 😄🐴 #readyourebooks

I couldn‘t resist sharing my new Kindle case. I think Space Cat would approve. 😺🪐🛸 #kindlepaperwhite

What an unpleasant family! Although living cheek by jowl with all of your in-laws would probably make most people cranky. 😏 And I did want to find out what happened, in spite of the unlikeable characters.
#FurrowedMiddleBrowClub

It‘s always interesting to find the same historical figure in two books. I‘m currently watching #TheGildedAge and #Outrageous and wanted some coordinating reading material. #MitfordSisters

@LeahBergen @Centique These are my two Lucy books. I think I put them in the wrong order; I believe the tagged book is the sequel.

As always, I‘m grateful for my kitties, Sadie and Nicky. 😻 They just turned 12, and Nicky is having some health challenges, but they‘re still the best reading buddies ever. #catsoflitsy
Thanks for the tag, @eggs 😸
#thoughtsforthursday

Like most of you, I enjoyed Professor Adler‘s story most, and was glad he and Nina had a happy ending. Resi‘s story was sad, and both Bimbo and Lucas were creeps. Krieger made my blood run cold. And Father Jahoda certainly had his finger in every pie.
#PersephoneClub

I really enjoyed this #girlsown book. My favorite trope (orphan girl goes to live with unsympathetic aunt), along with Girl Guides, and a mystery. I‘m glad Books to Treasure is reissuing these vintage novels.
(Not in the Litsy database, so I tagged another book by the same author.)

I borrowed the idea of categories/genres vs book titles from @coffeymuse and @kelli7990 for my #ReadYourKindle list.
#ReadYourEbooks #ReadYourKobo

Ann was a bit too noble, and her family (especially Bunny) was a bit twee, but I still loved this book. You can always count on Susan Scarlett for escapist fluff. 😄
#FurrowedMiddleBrowClub

Sadly, I no longer have my childhood copy of Beautiful Joe (those Whitman books were cute, but just didn‘t hold up with age). However, I do have the sequel. 🐶
#KindredSpiritsBuddyRead #LMMAdjacent

It‘s funny that Betty describes nasty Nigel describes as the villain in a melodrama, because I thought of him as Snidely Whiplash from the beginning. 🤣
Also, I‘ve never seen the phrase “Hully gee!” outside of a #BetsyTacy book.
All that said, I loved this book! I think it‘s the first adult novel by FHB I‘ve read, but I‘m definitely going to read more.
#PersephoneClub

A few days left in April to reread one of my favorite books. I think this would be a great title for #FurrowedMiddlebrow to reprint.
I just upgraded my IPad to iOS 18.4.1, and now Litsy isn‘t working right. I can‘t like posts, and it won‘t let me add an image to this post. Anyone else having similar problems?

A #kindledeal for anyone interested in the Queen Mum (and her fondness for cocktails 😄). #ebookdeals

Nicky and Sadie do NOT approve this message. 😼
Except for that slightly anti-feline quote, I loved this book. Every character was interesting, even (or maybe especially) when they were unlikeable. Poor JimJams!
#FurrowedMiddleBrowClub

I‘m still working on (and enjoying) the tagged book (thanks to my bad habit of having several reads going at once), but for those of you interested in a sequel …
#hashtagbrigade #kindledeals #kindlefreebies

I loved this book. I can identify with both ladies—Mrs. Willoughby and her lists, and Mrs. Fowler “dipping into” her books. I just don‘t know how Belle got so many men to marry her. 🤷♀️
This is my first Richmal Crompton, but it definitely won‘t be my last.
#PersephoneClub

So many lovely, thoughtful birthday treasures from @LeahBergen 😍
I remember Calling All Girls!/Young Miss—it‘ll be so much fun to read one again. The vintage ballet book is adorable, and this is a BLWW I‘ve been wanting to read.
❤️ the goodies in the Betsy-Tacy pencil pouch! The Deep Valley card is absolutely frameable. I hope Nicky & Sadie don‘t get any ideas about cooking from the other cute card. 😹
Thank you so much for everything! 😘

My February #readyourkindle picks. I‘m really excited to have a couple of ARCs on the list, since I‘m woefully behind. 😆

When I first started this (especially the “book within a book”), I wasn‘t sure I would make it to the end. However, “The Bastard of Pinsk” got more interesting as it suddenly galloped towards its conclusion, reminding me of a slightly risque Gilbert & Sullivan operetta. The story of the real, rather mundane romance behind it all was sweet.
#furrowedmiddlebrowclub

I‘m recycling January‘s #readyourkindle. Hope I do better in February. 😆

My January picks. (I just realized I have two Titanic-related books this month. My obsession is showing. 😆)

Catching up on last month‘s #PersephoneClub book. I‘m fascinated by stories of the Lowell Mill girls, but this one is particularly bleak. It took me a long time to finish because my feelings of dread kept growing stronger and stronger, as did my anger at most of the characters. Poor Emmeline never had a chance.

Happy New Year! My resolution is more reading! 😁🎉🍾📚

Such lovely books from @LeahBergen and Johnny Bergen! I‘ve been dying to read the tagged book. And the handwritten version of Anne of Green Gables looks magical. Thanks so much, dear friend (and your little dog, too. 😁)
P. S. It looks like we were kindred spirits in choosing gifts this year. 👒

Here are my two choices for December 2025. I‘ve wanted to read Lady Rose ever since learning that it was a favorite of the Queen Mum‘s. One Afternoon sounds interesting, and this would give me an excuse to buy a copy. 😄
#PersephoneClub

Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate! I think Littens can definitely agree that we‘re grateful for books. 😃🦃📚

This was a low pick for me. Interesting, but depressing. My favorite character was Miss Spooner, followed by the tiger, who should have eaten Richard while it had the chance. 😏
This isn‘t my copy(I read the ebook), but I certainly prefer the grey Persephone cover over this artwork. The photo depicts tea harvesting in 1945.
#PersephoneClub

Not my favorite Margery Sharp, but fun nonetheless.
