I struggled with this book and will probably wait a while to continue the series. BUT I also had trouble putting it down because I really wanted to know what was coming next. Characters are believable and the world is well-built. Some of it strains credulity - it is a post-apocalyptic story, though it‘s more believable than it might have been last year.

Note: scavenging for supplies seems more realistic given the great TP debacle of 2020.

Perhaps a post-apocalyptic romance set in a world decimated by bacteria that kills or warps billions of people, with a president who‘s unhinged and homicidal...wasn‘t the best choice. I‘m about 2/3 through and it‘s good, but I‘m also struggling with it in ways I wouldn‘t have a year ago.

Megabooks I bet! 4y

This is the first in a new series by Zanetti. It's post-apocalyptic romantic suspense. I got very involved wth the story and think I can very easily get addicted to this series. Number 2 comes out the end of August and I just pre-ordered it! I also liked the quotes she uses as epigraphs for each chapter. The romance is about finding hope and a reason to live when the world as you knew it has fallen apart. #LoveRomance
