Seeing the Insane is a richly detailed cultural history of madness and art in the Western world, showing how the portrayal of stereotypes has both reflected and shaped the perception and treatment of the mentally disturbed.

An interesting look at the artistic portrayals of mental illness through history. Fascinating to examine cultural & visual history before modern medicine. I‘m reading it in chunks, but it‘s one of the more interesting reads I‘ve come across.

SRWCF That sounds like a very interesting subject! 2y
