Well my reading light was cool before it was claimed. #raisereaders
@mrsmarch thank you for this thoughtful and delightful #Basicwitchswap delivery! My tarot deck is my life! And big shout out to @sprainedbrain Jenni, you‘re amazing for setting this up!!
A delight
Since I was introduced to Libby, I started to see if I could listen to books I‘ve hoarded. Audio books are easier for me now especially since I start graduate school back up next week, and I love working and listening. Trying to get in some physical reading coupled with it as well, it‘s kind of nice to have both avenues when reading a book! And It‘s almost spooky season right?? 🎃
Our Thailand adventure finally became a reality and I spent 20 minutes in this swing reading after my obligatory instagram shot. In other news: if you haven‘t read The Evening and The Morning it‘s wonderful! PICK IT UP, TBR LIST IT, READ IT #BookNerdWillTravel #HistoricalFiction #beach #Thailand
Working on a chapter a day. Coffee, Deck views, happiness.
À Poutine pastrami in bed wild scared kind of night. Laundry is for tomorrow. ??♀️
My first trip to Joshua Tree, it snowed. The desert was a dream and worth the 18 hours of driving in 3 days.
I learned how I want to be memorialized. Never been to a library like this 📚 💀
Mountain View Cemetery
Oakland, CA
What a dream discovery today from Oakland. True crime nerds, unite. #IYKYK
This little dude LOVES to cook. He got cookbooks for his birthday! A tiny chef in the making. 👨🏼🍳
What a wild ride being a full time grad student, solo parenting (husband has to work out of Boston a few times a month), and job hunting has been. Trying to squeeze in a couple pages on my breaks and in between racing cars.
Got to visit one of my favorite cities on the planet today. I‘m lucky enough to live within an hour of Monterey, CA, but every time I visit I am so happy. Even with all my travels, this city remains in my top 3 favorite places on this planet. There‘s nothing like it, it‘s wealth of literary history, and the magic you feel when you are there.
An interesting look at the artistic portrayals of mental illness through history. Fascinating to examine cultural & visual history before modern medicine. I‘m reading it in chunks, but it‘s one of the more interesting reads I‘ve come across.
Me: Just trying to read
My needy ass pug and toddler enjoying his 20 minutes of screen time:
How about no?
Prepared to be grossly underwhelmed or wildly thrilled. Any hints from the people who read it?!?
I told my husband today “I deserve books”. I‘m exhausted. The last four years of my life have been some of the hardest and most tumultuous in my existence. All I want to do is read. And learn. And read. I‘m happy today and I deserve that.
This booknerd is traveling on a plane for the first time since 2019. This is surreal.
THE HIGHLIGHT OF THIS BOOK NERD‘S WEEK
Books in this household when we can‘t sleep, always
My reading view Friday. The joy of being reunited with lifelong friends after being forced apart 2+ years is indescribable. Watching the boys who I lived with through college (I was the first girl in the crew of 9 incredible guy friends) grow as humans has been a true adventure. What an honor to see love grow and bloom for a few of the best human beings on this planet… and enjoy a book while I do it. #thedream #extrathankful
Today was a best day of my life
Adventures today with Beck! The tiny man playing golf on the right is my husbands best friend from college- they were playing on a tournament in Half Moon Bay this afternoon ⛳️ 🏌️♂️
Literally one of the best King books to date, he really knocked this out of the park. If you‘re looking for something that is more of a thriller with some intense twists and turns, I highly recommend this story.
#HauntedHallowSwap @wanderinglynn

Solid read, even more of a solid spontaneous adventure to Edmund Kemper‘s home this afternoon. Can‘t wait to get this Book Nerd Travel on the blog, Santa Cruz area serial killers have always been fascinating (and terrifying) to me, considering I‘ve worked and lived (within 20 miles) of so many of the crimes I‘ve read and listened to podcasts on.
Out here celebrating spooky season, because we all know spooky season starts September 1st #StephenKing #Mydude
When I say Beck is into books, I mean Beck is INto books. #raisereaders #toddlerreader
Our sweet Mozzarella is 10 years old today! Time has flown with this sweet angel, our furst baby, and greatest dog. We are so lucky to be loved by you.
Trying to FaceTime read The Boy Who Lived to my niece, but needy pug needs attention
I was reminded of this after reading a paper on Ifugao - it‘s where I spent two field seasons as an Archaeologist in the rice terraces. The Save the Ifugao Terraces Movement Community volunteers gifted me a traditional necklace from the nearby Kalinga on my 25th birthday (there was a typhoon that day). I was thrilled, honored, surprised, shocked. This necklace is still one of my most prized possessions.
Night 2 of FaceTime Harry Potter reading with my niece. She‘s IN LOVE with the illustrations. It‘s so amazing to revisit the magic again through a little one‘s eyes. It feels like going back to Hogwarts all over for the first time and my heart is soaring
WOWOWOWOWOW I loved this spectacularly creepy read! I couldn‘t put it down. Highly recommend for ghost story lovers and crime enthusiasts. Such a fun roller coaster! Also, Pepper Jack says hello
My niece calls me Aunt Sissy because she had a speech delay and couldn‘t actually pronounce my name until she was older. I sent her the illustrated Harry Potter so we could start reading them together on FaceTime even if a pandemic is keeping us far apart. I think she‘s a Gryffindor. #Hogwartsismyhome #Slytherin
Big shame on me for not downloading Libby sooner. What a game changer she is!!
