I was so moved and disgusted by Little Heaven that I emailed Nick Cutter aka Craig Davidson late one night. I wanted to share my thanks for reigniting my love of reading this year….. and my absolute dream of this book on screen some day. Did I think he‘d read it, let alone respond? Absolutely not, but I am so delighted this lit up my inbox this morning!! WHOLLY recommend this claustrophobic read if you need a good spook for your TBR.

TrishB Very cool 👍🏻 7mo

Great insights from ~30 years ago. Loving this book. Also, got a big surprise when I realized that one of the editors of writing science series is the dad of my husband‘s best man. I opened the book and was like hey! I know him! We had a good laugh over it.

Our B turns 5 (you read that right) this week. Our family spends Saturdays visiting the bookstore and grabbing lunch together. We still do the library, and our library is AWESOME, but there is something so exciting about visiting the bookstore and hanging out together. And of course we see the changes at home too. It‘s such a fun thing to watch a book nerd grow up. ❤️

Soubhiville This photo makes me so happy! I love seeing kids enjoying a book. 📖🖤 10mo
kspenmoll How wonderful! My son loved the Captain Underpants series. 10mo
HotMessJess @kspenmoll it‘s been an absolutely awesome book for us. He loves the comic aspect and George and Harold! They are super delightful books!! I‘m glad they exist 10mo
HotMessJess @Soubhiville me too!! We‘ve been very cognizant of letting him choose. Last thing I want to do is force him to read and make him hate it. This was a “caught in the wild moment too”. He picked it up on his own! I was thrilled. 10mo
AmyG I love when kids enjoy reading. That was me! Always a nose in a book. 10mo

Spooky and ethereal read. Took an interesting direction and was a very quick finish. My only caveat is how often the author had to describe the cold. We got it, Siberia is cold. Granted, I‘ve only experienced bone-chilling, unable to breathe, cold once before and hated it.

On to Hidden Pictures!

Did I start and finish a book in one sitting last night? Yes. I did my nearly yearly rewatch of James Cameron‘s masterpiece on Sunday. B is now calling it “the ship with the iceburger” since he walked in at the iceberg scene. Did not expect I‘d have to explain Titanic‘s sinking to a 4.5 year old, but here we are.

Solid ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ quick read with a lot of fun facts and background.

Jjaxn95 I used to love these when I was a kid! 1y
HotMessJess @Jjaxn95 it‘s B‘s new favorite and he‘s in love! We really battled with getting him to sit and read with us for a few months. We stumbled on Dog Man (followed by Captain Underpants) and it‘s now him BEGGING us to read more. My heart exploded! They‘re GREAT books. 1y
Jjaxn95 @HotMessJess that‘s so awesome!! My nephews 6yrs and 5yrs are super into Dog Man. They‘re a great gateway into developing a love for reading. 1y
HotMessJess @Jjaxn95 I agree!! Dav Pilkey is definitely B‘s “gateway” author LOL 1y

@Eggs

1. Can I consider seeing Tom Felton a signing? I got a signed book?
2. I regularly buy paperbacks and kindle versions. Don‘t @ me. I have a four year old that loves to steal my book light.
3. 10 years ago I would‘ve said Hogwarts, but JK Rowling really soured that for me. Today, I would love to visit Derry, Maine.

Ok, started strong with some big horror elements, but did not expect where we ended up. 3.5 ⭐️ , wish it would‘ve stayed more zombie woman raised from the dead and actually discussed more about The Fisherman. I can see LOTS of cool stories within this story. I hope John writes more. Also this BEGS to be a film adaptation.

Not sure what possessed me, but I‘ve powered through FOUR books in the last seven days and it felt good. Big trigger warning for my Litsy friends: This is gruesome to say the very least, but an excellent thriller that kept me on my seat (even if the twists were easily spotted). 4/5 ⭐️

TrishB If there‘s one thing you can rely on with Slaughter it‘s gruesome! 1y

Two books in three days? I feel like this is a reading renaissance for me. Deleting social media (minus Litsy obviously) from my phone has proved a blessing. Another high recommendation, especially with the anniversary of D day coming June 6th. Not nearly as graphic as I expected, but heartbreaking and a reminder of what my Great Gramps went through as a soldier in the Pacific

Desha So great you read this! My granddad fought in the Pacific in WWII. Do you think this is a good read for that? 📚♥️ 1y

Since I was introduced to Libby, I started to see if I could listen to books I‘ve hoarded. Audio books are easier for me now especially since I start graduate school back up next week, and I love working and listening. Trying to get in some physical reading coupled with it as well, it‘s kind of nice to have both avenues when reading a book! And It‘s almost spooky season right?? 🎃
