So I‘ve been having a really rough start to 2025. This led to my doing a reread of The Bonds That Tie series. I honestly really love the magic of this world and the concept of bonds. Plus the direction this series takes is so well done, especially with the discussions on trauma. That being said, I will acknowledge that it‘s not everyone and the ending falls a little flat. Other than that, I still had a blast.

This was supposed to be NA but characters gave strong YA vibes. 19-yo main character felt immature. I loved Oli's friend Sage and their friendship.

I am not sure what this book wanted to be: there was some secret about Oli but that wasn't even revealed during the whole book. Not so much happened. The last chapters had some action but there wasn't really a plot at all. I think this was only introducing the characters & the world.

The jackets are heavy & reversible. Digitally sprayed edges all around. Pretty end papers. Purple foiling on front back & spine.

It‘s a book based on preference. It had a good-ish plot (although it was obscured slightly through the five love interests) If you plan to read this PLEASE read trigger warnings. There is a graphic rape scene and lots of flashbacks to torture. Personally I don‘t think I will be continuing to read this series because of these trigger points.
