What a joy to do a full reread of this series before I get into the newly released “Murtagh”. Such a childhood favorite and holds up well! #reread #audio

The way the end of Part Four just tore me to shreds on this #reread . If you don't "get" or have never heard of asexuality or aromanticism, read this. Also, if you just want a really solid coming of age at college story with a GREAT friend group, read this. #yalit

3.5⭐️ Read this for #bookclub and while I liked certain aspects about the book, it was just ok. A lot of it felt like it was not exactly plausible, but I think that was the point of the book. It was needed escape from my heavier books. #2024 #fiction #bookreview #reread #historicalfiction

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #Reread of my top book from 2023, but this time on audio.

OG review: An exposition of the US prison system, capital punishment, and reality tv, where prisoners compete in colosseum-like death matches. They are commodified, sexualized and idolized. Survive three years and you‘ll be freed, they‘re told, as they serve the community through torturous entertainment. Brilliant, impactful, factual footnotes.

God I'm glad I #reread this. Cash's voice is SO distinct and poetic, and I just love how he and Delaney still get to be silly teenagers as they adjust to Middleford and make new, equally silly friends. A masterwork. #yalit

Happy Sunday Littens! I‘m so looking forward to rereading this again with a group of readers here. It‘s sometimes a tough read, but I get more out of every reread.

CatLass007 I‘m listening to the audiobook narrated by Derek Jacobi. It doesn‘t have the forward and preface. Should I be concerned about missing something? 1mo
CatLass007 Actually, it‘s not Derek Jacobi. 1mo
Daisey @CatLass007 The main part of the preface is excerpts from a letter that Tolkien wrote to Milton Waldman. You can read about the letter here: https://www.teawithtolkien.com/blog/Letter131 1mo
CatLass007 Thank you. 1mo
JazzFeathers I'm so excited too. It's been some time since last we read it 🤩 4w

This morning I saw discussion posts & realized I had kind of forgotten about The Sign of the Four this month. Luckily it‘s not too long, so it was a perfect listen while I worked around the house & took a walk with my own hound. The inclusion of Toby is one of the things I really enjoy in this story. I found it much more interesting & entertaining than A Study in Scarlet.

Cuilin Yes I liked this one two. I love Stephen Fry‘s narration. I go between book and audio. 1mo
Daisey @Cuilin I‘ve read these early books before, so I‘m just listening. When we get to the ones I haven‘t read, I‘ll probably add some print back in again. 1mo

I just love the way Wren phrases things in this book. And the whole concept is right up my alley! Swoony romance, action, a road trip through Europe - what else do you need? #reread #yalit #yaromance

Do we know what happens to Jamie if we've read CNV? Yes. Does it still rip my heart in two? HARD YES. And the dream team of Jamie, Louisa, Ellen, and Jane is so good!! Gotta love mistaken identities and doing all you can to fight the Nazis. #reread #yalit #yahistoricalfiction
