Although I wasn't crazy about this book it fits in to today's #augustgrrrl prompt #iheardarumor. Farshad is nicknamed "terror boy" because of a nasty rumor started by kids in his class. @Cinfhen

I wanted to like this book. I really did. I met the author the day I bought it & had it signed. The author was lovely. I wanted to love this book. It's basically the set up for the next book, the back story. That's not the problem though. The characters were meh & one was just so utterly obnoxious & mean that I didn't want to finish it, but I did. I figured being it is on my school shelves I should know the book. #middlegrade

When a nerd, cartoonist, social outcast, and the most popular girl in school are involved in a mysterious bus accident, this random group of kids starts to notice some very strange abilities they did not have before. Martina can change eye color. Nick can teleport four inches to the left, Farshad develops super strength in his thumbs, Cookie developed the ability to read minds when those minds are thinking about directions.
