Do you ever walk into your kitchen and feel the urge to turn around and walk right back out? Maybe you get hives when you hear the phrases "meal planning" and "food prep," or you feel as though you just cram stuff in cabinets and hope for the best. And if someone asks you to host Thanksgiving at your house? Forget it. This is the book that will change all that, helping you create a kitchen that works for you. Learn to love your kitchen with this practical guidebook from the New York Times bestselling author of The Lazy Genius Way. Using proven Lazy Genius principles-embracing what matters and ditching what doesn't-Kendra Adachi helps you feed your people with efficiency and ease. You'll learn to apply her simple, actionable five-step process-prioritize, essentialize, organize, personalize, and systemize-to multiple areas of your kitchen so you can equip and enjoy it in ways you've always wanted, no matter your life stage or skill set. As you learn to plan, prep, cook, and host like a Lazy Genius, you will find the five Lazy Genius steps become a part of every aspect of your happier, easier kitchen life. They are foundational to finding pain points, naming helpful solutions, and creating a sustainable rhythm in your kitchen. This practical book-loaded with color, illustrations, and actionable help-is where you begin. This is a guidebook, not a cookbook, about kitchen organization, meal planning, grocery shopping, prepping, cooking, and cleaning up. I liked the charts in this book for flavor & ingredient combos, etc. I also liked the message of keeping a kitchen and cook according to the season of your life and what you like, not for someone else or a fantasy.

Otherwise I don‘t think the info is all that useful for people already comfortable in their kitchens. For those who are not, it might be a tad overwhelming, despite Kendra‘s explicit intent to make it easy. Lots of words!

This isn‘t a cookbook. However, it has some interesting and useful tips for organizing your kitchen, getting the most bang for your buck with meal plans, using the Liquid Index, fun things kids and family members can do to help at meal time, and more. Ended up getting a lot more out of this than I expected.

I adored The Lazy Genius and so I was excited to read this one too. There are a lot of repeated rules and strategies, so it‘s helpful to read the original first. I love the way she approaches cooking in and organizing your space. It‘s all about keeping things simple and doing what makes sense for you in the season you‘re in. Her tips on creating zones and plan B meals will stick with me and I already added added a Bluetooth speaker to my kitchen!

I don‘t love the word “lazy” and am not a follower of Adachi‘s work, nor have I read her previous book. That said, I liked this and appreciated its focus on identifying and working with your own kitchen priorities, preferences, and rhythms. Cute graphics and some useful tips and lists also make this very browsable/fun to flip through.
