Pickpick

Manga artist Asuka Miyazaki writes about coming to terms with their nonbinary gender and their attraction to women in this memoir. Their editor said, “Powerful emotions will make your manga more interesting.” There‘s no shortage of extreme emotions here. The content is for adults and includes passages about porn and kink. Their final line in the afterword is perfect: “May you live as your most authentic self!”

reading.rainb0w I really enjoyed reading this one as well! 😄 2y

Mehso-so

I relate to some aspects of the working out of gender identity and sexuality recounted, and I appreciated the educational pieces interspersed with more personal stories. But I think I'm not really set up to enjoy manga as a format. SO. MUCH. DRAMA. I admit I enjoy comics and graphic novels where the (preferably full colour) visual art is at least half the feast of absorbing the content.
A LOT of content warnings, look 'em up!
