My favorite book in December was this book. True story. If you like adventures this is a book read.

Andrew65 I added this to my TBR following the review. It reminds me of the Shackleton expedition and the Endeavour. These people did such heroic things in great adversity.

Thanks for playing along, it has been a great way to review the Reading year.

Read more like an adventure fiction book than nonfiction, probably because it was quite an adventure for the ones involved in the Artic Expedition on the Karluk. There were problems from the start for this expedition. Gross negligence by the head of the expedition was the major problem that just lead to more trouble. I think anyone that likes adventure books, will enjoy this book.

1st book for #winterreadathon

A fascinating account offering a clear contrast between the heroism of the Captain and the selfish carelessness of the Expedition Leader. Even those who are not typically nonfiction fans will find a lot to like about this book. I‘ve read a diverse set of nonfiction books this year, and this one is near the top of my favorites. Five Stars.

ARC - the book goes on sale Dec. 6.

This is the story of the crew of the Karluk who were stranded for about 9 months on Wrangel Island, north of Siberia. The author describes the ordeal of the men in great detail making it sometimes hard to read but, it's a fast-paced and tense tale that kept me reading past my bedtime wanting to know what happened. Anyone who enjoys survival and/or exploration adventures would like this. It will be published on December 6th.

Cinfhen Sounds fascinating!! I love exploration stories!!! #Stacked 1y
