I was never really with this book, but the ending did it in for me. The writing style felt clunky and awkward the entire time. All the characters felt like they had the exact same personality. I would have appreciated more on the event planning side of things and maybe a little less of Morgan and Rachel‘s sexy talk. I‘ve also never felt that there should be a limit to the amount of times the word naval is used in a book. 3⭐️

This was a sweet romance filled with all the tropes - childhood friends to lovers, city girl returns home to small town and tries to save a small town business. I liked her love interest 'LumberJane' more than Morgan herself. There was a lot of emotional healing she had to go through. The setting was lovely. I definitely loved the secondary characters and can't wait for Ben and Adam's story in book 2

Listen. It‘s basically a Hallmark movie, so it‘s not peak literature but it‘s two bi women being together and happy (mostly) AND CHRISTMAS AND TREE FARMS AND GOOD FRIENDS AND LETS MAKE SOME NOISE FOR A LUMBERJANE!!!!! throughly enjoyed.

Your typical queer holiday romance, complete with big city transplant rediscovering love for her small mountain town as she works to save its charm. I wound up hating the last 2 hours after feeling so-so on the rest of the book. The drama explosion that happened was a little much. I also got tired of the narration "right where I needed her" during every intimate scene. It was cute once. Then it became redundant and irritating. #LGBTQ #Christmas

Kenyazero I made it through despite the lot-keys incident even though I was already considering bailing long before that. 3y

The audio narrator just pronounced latkes as "lot-keys" ?

Ah yes, the lot-key. They open any lot in the city. It's proof that Jewish food is the best food, recognized by all city officials.

Clare-Dragonfly 😂 I have definitely IRL heard people pronounce it that way. Though, now that I think about it, I can‘t remember whether any of them were Jewish. 🤔 Other than my dad, who often mispronounced things in jest. 3y
Kenyazero @Clare-Dragonfly Too funny! I've never heard anyone say lot-keys, and looked it up to make sure it wasn't a regional thing somewhere 😂 3y

This was such a disappointment! "Steamy sapphic hallmark christmas movie romance" sounded right up my alley but sadly this one fell flat. Everything felt wooden and clunky, from the over the top plot contrivances to the side characters to the sex scenes. Never thought I'd ding a book with a hot lumberjane love interest but alas, here we are. Hoping for more (and better written) queer holiday romances in the future!

Clare-Dragonfly Oh man, how unfortunate! 3y
