One thing I like about the Sloan and Crosby series is how Aird gently educates the reader on a different topic in each book. This one incorporates the waters near and of the sea, the people who live on them, and the constabulary‘s place there.
A body found floating on the sea near the mouth of the river was not as simple a case as originally thought - as Dr. Dabbe‘s post-mortem (and entertaining insights) discover.

julieclair Ooohhh... I've never heard of this series. But the cover alone makes me want to read this book! Added to stack. 👍📚 2y
mabell @julieclair I really enjoy this series! Classic British cozies, with a unique writing style. The first was written in 1966, and the most recent in 2019 - the author is in her 90s! 2y

TheAromaofBooks I'm with @julieclair - I've never heard of this series and it sounds so fun!! 2y
Librarybelle I didn‘t realize the series spanned so many years! 2y
mabell @TheAromaofBooks I really enjoy it! But also British cozies are my jam 🤣 2y
mabell @Librarybelle I know! It will be interesting to see how it evolves with time. I‘m just up to 1982, so only 15ish years from the beginning and this one didn‘t feel any more “modern.” (Which is a good thing!) 2y
